I received 3 more people's money and enrollment today, so add Mrs Robert Rock Vicki Payne and Betsy Farrar to the list Also, since kids sizes and adult sizes have the same names,( S-M-L ) etc, please tell me if it is a child size you are ordering or I will assume adult's. I know an XS is a child and a 3X is an adult, but need to be really sure on those same-name size ones. Thanks Cacky
Today is the 22nd of May. This may not come as news to anyone,... BUT, a month from today we will be gathering at Paris Landing State Park at the Lodge, signing in, picking up packets of information about the various counties, our teeshirts, and reuniting and splitting up to go to the courthouses, libraries and cemeteries. I want to remind you all if you haven't already, to send in your checks and enrollment information so we will be all set to go! Linda needs surnames, and counties you are researching in, to know which counties to make a pack of information for you on, and is compiling a master surname list. I am forwarding that on to her, as I get information on the the enrollment forms. So, we will need: your name__________________________________________________________ screenname_______________________________ address_______________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ phone number (__________)_____________________________ counties you are researching _____________________________________________ surnames in those counties______________________________________________ and $10 for the 3 day event ( or $5 a day if you can only come for a day) plus $13.50 ( tax and tip included) for the fishfry " shindig" Saturday night and another $14 each for a teeshirt, and tell me what size ( S-M-LG-XL are $14, 1X ,2X, and 3X are $2 more), and we can have them made for the kids at the same adult price, in XS (2-4), S (4-6), M (8-10) L ( 12-14). Please print his form and send it and a check for the appropriaite amount to: Danville Crossing Homecoming 2000 P O Box 47047 Jacksonville Fla 32247-7047. We have to have the dinner prepaid, so everyone needs to sign up ( and pay up) in advance. The absolute latest for this would be postmarking June 12th so I have it before I leave her on the 16th. The t-shirts need to me ordered ASAP. I will round the number up to the next dozen and have a few at DCH that are not ordered in advance, BUT they might not be the right size if we don't know what you need... so order as soon as you can and be SURE to get yours! The games and workshops and fun-stuff are coming together, and I will be posting a quiz in the next few days that is an " open book test" for you to do between now and the Homecoming, with prizes then for the most right answers! So far I have heard from the following, ( if you have sent yours more than 5 days ago and are not on this list, e-mail me, please) Catherine Cline Bill Gleaves Ida deal Gene Walker Sue Buchannan Ronda Mrozek Lee Hoover Jean Hancock & Dell Pierce Linda Hughes Monette Littleton Grant Morgan Davidson Teddy Russell Susannah Ash Jean Clark Betty Morris Carolyn Nelson Mary Russell Jamie Weatherly Mary Carol Roach Dana Powell The mail to here takes forever.. no real reason, just ask Jan! Anything sent after Wed of last week will probably arrive today or tomorrow! Cacky
Of course I meant June 24th!!
Today I received a letter form Ethel Carmical , director of the Humphreys County library, saying that ordinarily their library hours are Mon-Fri 10-5, but that arrangements have been made for them to be open to our Danville Crossing people, ( not the general public, so it will be quiet for us to work ) on Saturday , June 14th. That is so wonderful of them! Now I know a lot of you will be relieved to have that extra day to go there and research your families in that area! I also heard from Karen Price, Director of the Carroll County Library, that their Library Hours are 9-4 Mon-Sat. And from Sharon Simpson that their Library hours at the McIver Grant Public Library in Dyersberg ( Dyer County) are Monday 10-6, Tues through Sat 10-5 Henry County is no longer without a Librarian, since Connie McSwain accepted that position in February. Everything there ought to be running smoothely there, where I will have a " nest" in their Genealogical room! Aren't we getting excited to " lay siege" to the libraries when we get to the Homecoming in June!! I know I am! Can hardly wait! Cacky

We are down to the home-stretch in planning the Homecoming. You have a month to have your reservation in, ($10 for the 3 day event) and dinner ( $13.50 each for anyone over age 3...tip and tax included.) I need that postmarked by June 12th so it is all in before I leave here on the 16th. Now we have something more for you. TA-DAAAH! (fanfare) T SHIRTS! ( drumroll) They will be beige cotton brand -name teeshirts with the new and exclusive Danville Crossing logo on them in dark green. They come in sizes S-M-L and XL for $14 each. XXLand XXXL are $2 more and a XXXXL will be $2.50 more... (and the X-sized may be white as they don't have these sizes in beige) They also can make for us children's sizes for the same price, XS (2-4), S (6-8) M (10-12) and LG (14-16). These will need to be prepaid (and I will TRY to have a few extras at the Homecoming as the order has to be in an even number of dozens) I need to know who many of each size ASAP. We had hoped to have this to announce and offer for sale sooner, but ran into problems with the printing companies' wanting a very large minimum order. Now that we have worked that out, you can start sending me in your orders and checks so I can deliver them to you at DCH when you get there! I don't think there will be time to mail them and be sure they get to you in time . The deadline on this will have to be June 6th. So, the address is the same as for the Reunion and dinner: Danville Crossing Homecoming 2000 P O Box 47047 Jacksonville, FL 32247-7047 For you not yet paid and signed up for the Homecoming, send me your name, screenname mailing address phone number counties in TN you are researching surnames in those counties and $10 or the 3 days , (or $5 a day if you can only come for one day) and how many for dinner , at $13.5O each. The workshops/programs are set, we have a nice big meeting room, and anticipate a great gathering! Don't miss it! Donations are still being accepted for the silent auction, which was such a hit last time, and some interesting and very nice things will be offered. Cacky
Is it possible to order copies of a will probated in Dec 1870? If so, to whom do I write? Or do I need to go personally to the county seat? Thank you. Jan Broxterman jbinsure@nmia.com
Did part of Humphreys Co ever belong to Perry, or part of Perry ever belong to Humphreys? Or did my ancestors just move around? Thank you. Jan Broxterman jbinsure@nmia.com
We have a serious gap in printed records for this area regarding Bible records, and if you are like me and several others, you either have or someone in your family has a family Bible that has never landed in a publication. I am thinking of gathering any family Bible records any of you all have from the DC area, typing those up and making floppy disks available at the DC Reunion. If you have those and would not mind this way of sharing, please forward the information to me at unicorn@sun-spot.com Please include: Your name, email addy The ownership/possession of the Bible The Bible records exactly as they are in the Bible (please don't correct misspellings unless in parentheses) Thanks, jan (DC Homecoming Committee)

I'm searching for information on B.D.Tucker. I need to clarify information on where he was born. I have snippets of information that have him born in Humphreys County TN around 1800, also have info that has him born in NC around 1800. He married Martha ? around 1841 in Humphreys County or in NC. Can anyone help clear up this problem? Does anyone know his full name, would like to have more than B.D. I think he had a son, born around 1842 in Humphreys County, named Butler. Can anyone help? Thanks for your time and effort, Rick

Does anyone know if Martha Anderson, b. 1830, daughter of Timothy and Elizabeth Sloan Anderson, and Margaret Jane Anderson, b.1822, parents not known are sisters. Goodmorning, I have started a new chat room for Tennessee Genealogy as a place where cousins and fellow researchers can meet to chat. It is not listed on the chat room lists. The subject does not have to be genealogy. ( Porch rocking is allowed. Profanity and off-color jokes are not.) If the link below does not work, I can send you a shortcut. I hope everyone will feel free to use it.
