Hello Everyone, I am creating a Surname Reseacher's List for Humphreys County and I don't want to be the only one on the list. My two names look pretty lonely not to mention that it will be easier to put in a lot of names at one time rather than updating each time. I hope those of you with Humphreys County Surnames will send me an email and submit some names. I have the Surname page already to go I just have to change the index page to create a link so all I need are names! Thanks in advance... Hello Alisa, I am new to all of this but really appreciate the great information that is continually being shared. I have seen the Danville Crossing Homecoming mentioned several times and might be interested. What area exactly does Danville Crossing include and what does it refer to? Being from the western part of TN, I am not familiar with the name. Researching the following surnames: BOGGS, BRAZIER, COCKERHAM, COBLE, DOBBS, FONDREN, GARLAND, HAYES, HIMES, HORNER, KIDD, McVAY/McVEY, MURRAY, PATTERSON, RANDLE, SOLOMON, SPENCER, STEWART, TROLLINGER (The majority of these lived at one time in middle TN) Thanks, Linda

The Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness site is now up at http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnstewar/genkin.htm Please take a look at it and if you want to be a part of this contact me with the county you are willing to do this in (ideally where you live, not where your ancestors necessarily are), and what exactly you are willing to do (public record look-ups, or videotaping area cemeteries). We recommend that you ONLY do this once per month and keep a waiting list if necessarily. Hopefully the movement will grow until every single state and every single county are represented...and won't THAT be a wonderous thing for all of us???? Feel free to pass the message on to your respective lists, and advertise on your sites. jan Houston Co. TN Coordinator: www.rootsweb.com/~tnhousto/index.htm Stewart Co. Hello Everyone! I am trying to get caught up with all of the wonderful submissions to the Humphreys County Homepage! Sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday if you check you will see a transcription of the Dudley (Hite) cemetery and some civil war letters written by a Humphreys County resident T.M. Webb -- really interesting. I want to thank everyone who has sent me material for the page....it is getting to be a great place to do research. If you haven't checked out the 1850 census submitted to me by David Hooper I hope you will check it out. *One* of the projects I will be working on next will be to redo the photo page so you will be able to see an index of photos and just view the pictures you are interested in rather than wait for all of them to load. There will be more obituaries,a new Will and Estate Settlement page and I have more cemetery transcriptions from Betty Harwood to add. I hope you'll dig out those old boxes of material relating to Humphreys County and send it on! I'd like to have a lot of those family photos in our Humphreys County Photo Album. Please put names and dates if you know them.. Thanks again! and happy hunting! Hello Everyone! I am pleased and excited to say that the 1850 census and the 1812 TAx list are online on the Humphreys County web site. The thanks go to David Hooper for his many hours of transcription time. The Tax List has a problem with the background and the flower bar but the data is fine and ready to search. I updated the queries today too... If you want to go and see...the url is: Http://www.tngenweb.org/humphreys Happy Searching! Alisa
