Morning, Do any of you Coble or Bryant researchers have pictures of our Coble's/Bryant's that lived in the Humphreys County area (or vicinity). I have a few Coble/Bryant pictures that I would gladly exchange for additional photos of our kin. Please contact David Bryant. . h.d.bryant@worldnet.att.net Thanks

Thanks Don, These two are mine. I have this info, but if anyone else has more information on this family I would be more than happy to share what I have. I am a little confused about who Lucia Totty was, however. After Eliza Ann Totty Singleton died, James married Catharine Gibbons. I have quite a bit of info on this family. Does anyone know who Martha Dona Singleton married? I've updated the pages at http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/Quarter/5221 that include information on my Humphrey Co ancestors. Most of the information concerns my Mallard line, but there is some on other families connected to them. Please take a look and let me know of any problems, or hopefully, connections. On the LDS site I listed on Sunday, March 15 was a good site at that time... it was hit many, many, times......I eventually got on as did many others...... Today it has been taken off....... They told us they were going to be doing this....messages have been posted on this and many other lists for the past 6 weeks about this. Everyone should realize how many people would be trying to get one.... They will eventually work out the bugs and it will be a smooth running operation........patience is required........in the meantime, just wait until another announcement comes down. Or keep checking that url. Hi listers, A cousin of ours has an old funeral notice which we are trying to date. The notice is thick, like the cover of a hardback book and measures approx 4" X 6". On the front is "Loving remembrance of" and our ancestor's name (Whig Black) and an eight line poem. It also says "Gone but not forgotten". There is no date, place or name of the funeral home. The back of the notice is blank. Does anyone know what time period these notices were used in Humphreys County? Thanks, Victoria in Oregon
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Family History Center (LDS FHC) test site is up and running through March 28. The address is: http://eval.familysearch.com/default.asp Very hard to get through right now though....... David

Hello! I sent the new Surname List to be uploaded a few minutes ago. In a day or two I hope you all will check your email links to see if they work properly...I try to catch my errors but I am not perfect!!! If any of your email addresses don't work please write me and I will fix them. Also see if I left any names out. I was a little overwhelmed by the wonderful responses. Unfortunatley I only have one email address and I use it for work also which means I receive mail in both places....I try not to leave anything out but it happens. Any errors on my part are not intentional. Next project is a Will page. So far I have one submission from Denise Meredith Perry. If any of you have wills and want them included please transcribe them and forward to me. I would also like to do a Bible page. If you want to submit bible records to me be sure and list who has the bible in their possession. I'd like to thank all of you for donating records, research and information to the Humphreys County website. The amount of searchable information has increased greatly over the last year and special thanks must go to David Hooper for his generous donation of the census records. I can only imagine the amount of hours he put into transcribing these records from microfilm. Also, thanks to Betty Harwood for her time doing lookups and to Denise Perry for her obituaries. There is lots of valuable information there and I hope all of you find someone you are searching for! One last thing..about the surname list...please be kind when requesting information from the people on the list. Some people have many names listed and will receive many requests for information.... please do not write and ask them for information without giving dates, given names and whatever information you have to narrow down their search. For instance there may be many Smiths and if you ask for all the information someone has it might take a lot of time typing info you don't really need. If you be a little specific in your request you will save time. That is my opinion only but I am trying to keep everyone from being overwhelmed by this new surname list. Sometimes when that happens the flow of information halts...I hope that won't happen here. We can learn so much from each other. Happy Searching! Alisa PS: I have a FAmily Tree Maker problem..do we have any experts on our list? Please email me if you have time and won't mind helping me. >> >Researching: > >McKeel NC TN KY OH WV Horner TN >Cox WV OH VA Hutchison WV OH MO KS >Stanley OH Benner OH >Beck GA AL Would love to share! >*************************************************************************** * List Owner: McKeel family list and Humphreys County list. I don't do Moss genealogy, just happen to have the marriage records from 1861 - 1900. Just trying to help if I could! :) Betty
Connie I have marriage records from 1861 - 1900. The female Moss's recorded are: 1. Fredona F. Moss to Levi C. Webb 7 July 1862 (Book A pg.5) 2. M.I. Moss to J. C. Hendrix 25 July 1863 (Book A pg. 11) 3. Mary Moss to J.C. Rogers 4 Sep. 1863 ( Book a pg. 11) 4.Misourie J. Moss to A.J. Bludworth 24 June 1862 (Book A pg 5) 5. Amelia M. Moss to James H. Davidson 11 June 1890 (Book H pg 277)
James MOSS is found on the 1820, 1830, and 1840 Humphreys county censuses. He had 5 boys and six girls according to these censuses. Have all 5 boys but only the oldest girl, Jane who married David Webb. Is anyone else working on this family? Is there somewhere I can find marriage records? What about a probate for James in the 1840's? Connie
