E. Lockman. "Bear" Knight spent a few days here this week with his family. Irvin Hagler was in Clarksville on business Saturday. Howard Stone will leave for Nashville soon where he is employed with the State. Dr. G. D. Boone of Paris spent Thursday with his mother, Mrs. G. D. Boone. Miss Elizabeth Balthrop spent the weekend in Nashville. Mrs. Will Price, Mrs. Beverly Price and son were in Clarksville on Saturday. Mrs. Robe Miller and Gloria were in Clarksville one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marable have purchased the residence of the late Dr. G. D. Boone, known as J. B. Bunnell residence and will move there in the near future. Mrs. Boone is moving to Paris to make her home with her son. Mr. C. D. Askew of Lemay, Missouri, visited his daughter, Mrs. Charles Marable last weekend and his nephew, Homer Askew of Waverly who has been very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Baily Mathes of Milan spent the weekend here with their parents. W. H. Wiseman attended a meeting of the Scottish Rite Masons in Nashville last weekend and the election of officers for which Mr. Wiseman was elected President. L. F. Stone returned to Detroit Sunday after a visit here with his family. Frank Ray Stone came in from the Panama Canal Zone Saturday fo a surprise visit with his parents Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Stone. Rev. and Mrs. G. M. Davenport were in Clarksville Saturday. Ray Cleghern has been suffering of an attack of malaria. Mrs. Annie Connell has received a letter written by her son, A. B. Connell who was wounded in the battle of Iwa Jima stating he is doing o.k. F. W. Cherry spent the weekend here with his family. Miss Mary Sherrill is employed as a laboratory technician in Clinton, Tennessee. Mrs. J. W. Baggett who has been ill of pneumonia is able to be out again. Roscoe Adams of Charlottesville, Virginia and the Rev. Woodard Adams of Nashville have been visiting their mother, Mrs. Hattie Adams. Mrs. Lauvella Bratschi has returned from a visit with her daughter, Mrs. J. N. Dickson and Bratschi of Oak Grove, Kentucky. Mrs. Paul Bivens and little son Jerry of Kingston, Georgia are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bivens. Mrs. Agnes Hagler has returned from a visit with her brother Marshall Wynn and his family of Jackson, Mississippi. Miss Pearl Latham who spent the winter in Pine Bluff, Arkansas is here for an extended visit with Miss Vida Thomas. Ensign and Mrs. Robert Lee McCarty of Miami, Florida are visiting Mrs. Clara Powers and Mr. and Mrs. W. W. McCarty. Ensign McCarty is enroute to a Naval school in Texas. Bobby McKinnon, S 2-c, is spending a leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. B. McKinnon. Seaman Bill Spencer who has been undergoing treatment for rheumatic fever at the hospital in Camp Campbell has recovered sufficiently to report back for duty at Great Lakes, Illinois. Mrs. Roy Smith left this week for Celina to visit her parents. She will be accompanied home by her little son, Jimmie, who has been visiting there for two weeks. Mrs. I. E. Averitt was in Clarksville Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hughes of Camp Campbell spent Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Richardson. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Torian have returned to his work after a visit with Mrs. W. M. Adams and Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Torian. Mrs. Harold Roby has returned from a visit with her husband, Pvt. Harold Roby, who is in a hosptial in Baltimore, Maryland. Mrs. Leslie Roby and Mrs. J. O. Browning have returned from a visit with Billy Joe Browning, US Navy, in Florida. Rev. and Mrs. Carl Davis, Mrs. C. W. Mitchum and daughter Margaret Ruth left Wednesday for West Palm Beach, Florida for a visit with seaman Jeff Davis. Mrs. D. J. McAuley accompanied them to Decatur, Georgia for a visit with her sister, Mrs. J. B. Bunnell. Mrs. R. E. Cleghern and little grandson, Bobby Buckner, of Nashville have been visiting Miss Vida Thomas.
