    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lhB.2ACI/668 Message Board Post: I have an obituary of a Confederate veteran who died in 1924 in Houston County that states, "FATHER OF THREE LOCAL PEOPLE IS BURIED TODAY AT MOORE’S CHAPEL CHURCH." And further that "death occurred at 6 o’clock Sunday morning at his home on Guice’s Creek in Houston County, was buried this afternoon in the Moore’s Chapel or Spring Hill Methodist Church Cemetery, following services at the home." And finally, "He was a devoted member of the Moore’s Chapel Methodist Church for many years." The new Houston County cemetery book lists him as buried in Moore Cemetery # 1. Did this cemetery use to be the Moore's Chapel & Spring Hill Methodist Church cemetery? Thanks Greg

    3. Spring Hill has never had a cemetery. Moore's Chapel split in 1911 and two separate churches were created They were Spring Hill Methodist and Griffin's Chapel which became a Church of the Nazarene. My husband's family has been there since the beginning of Spring Hill, His great grandfather was an original trustee. Neither stayed at the spot where Moor's Chapel was located. Hopes this helps Linda Clark Original Message--- From: <steven63@charter.net> To: <TNHOUSTO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 03, 2006 11:54 AM Subject: [TNHOUSTO] Moore's Chapel or Spring Hill Methodist Church Cemetery > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lhB.2ACI/668 > > Message Board Post: > > I have an obituary of a Confederate veteran who died in 1924 in Houston County that states, > "FATHER OF THREE LOCAL PEOPLE IS BURIED TODAY AT MOORE’S CHAPEL CHURCH."
