    1. [TNHICKMA] 1808 Hickman County location
    2. John M. Scroggins
    3. In 1808, Barton Scroggins (probably then a resident of Dickson County) received a grant of land in Hickman County, as described below. The land was apparently sold by the sheriff to Asa Schute in 1809, and Schute sold it to James Lewis in 1813. My question is, can anyone familiar with the area (1) describe this location in modern-day terms and (2) tell me if it is within the current boundaries of Hickman County, or if not, which present-day county? "50 acres in Hickman County in the First District on Indian Creek waters of Tumbling Creek of Duck River.
