The same way with Humphreys Co., some that were in Hickman were then listed in Humphreys after 1809.. This so complicates a search for those ellusive ancestors that old history books help in locating a lot.. Jerome Spence of Hickman Co traveled around the county staying with different families and wrote a history of each district, giving loads of family histories...He published this in 1899 however it was not indexed..Of course, those books have almost disappeared. Many years ago it was reprinted in a paperback edition but those have been out of print for some time now.. Last week the Hickman County Historical Society received a reprint in hardcover and fully indexed. I do not know the number they had printed but do not believe it was a huge amount...If anyone is int
