I am looking for a death date for Marticia M. (FLY) BAKER. I have a Confederate Indigent Widow's Pension for her which is dated July 24,1905 which states she has been living in Hickman Co. since the war. She appears in the 1900 census living with her youngest daughter: Laura B. WORLEY married to Jonas (?). M.M. FLY b. 27 Nov. 1836 in Maury Co., TN married Fielding H. BAKER in Maury Co., 29 Dec 1853. They are found in the 1860 census with 3 children: R.W.(b. 1855), M.A. (b. 1857), S.L. (b. 1860), and the fourth: Laura was born in 1862. Fielding died at Rock Island, IL in 1864. James M. FLY, witness to the pension application, states that Marticia had been living in Hickman Co. since the war. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Von

I saw on the list this morning that you are researching Davis in Hickman county. Would they perhaps be connected to Ashburn Davis m. Rachel Matlock in Hickman County? He is on the 1830 Hickman County Census. He was born about 1806 in NC. He and Rachel had one son (George?)Ashburn Jr. Ashburn Sr. divorced Rachel and remarried. He stayed in Tenn for some years and had children, but I don't know what county. He came to Texas abt 1846. Sure would like to find a cousin that is in Tenn. Linda

Hi folks, I am looking for info on William Spence and Phebe Forehand. Especially would like to find William's parents. William was born August 09, 1795 in North Carolina. He came to Little Lot, Hickman Co. Tn about 1845. William died September 16, 1869 and was buried in the Little Lot Methodist Church Cem. that he had donated the land for. Unfortunately there was no mention of the Craft family in Spence's "A History of Hickman County, Tenn" Sorry. There is a good chapter at the beginning on the pioneer settler's of the late 1700s & early 1800s. But if John Craft was gone after 1812 then maybe there was no one to tell his story when Spence got around to writing the boon (circa 1890s). Old John Craft b.1751 was living in Hickman Co, Tenn when his third child Jesse was born. He moved his family to Pike Co, Miss. after the war of 1812 - along with many other families.
