    2. Lucian, I was just sent a correction on this name by a relative. I had Hadie down as Hattie. So, in answer, I don't have a lot at all on them. I had that Hattie and her husband Tommie Hooten (not T.C. Lum as you had) went to Fort Worth Texas where they died. I don't know anything more below that generation. 3. Hi How much do you have on the Hooten in your note? I have a T.C. "Lum" Hooten who married a Hadie Miller. ----- Original Message ----- From: <PaperHeath@aol.com> To: <TNHICKMA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 13, 2000 9:55 AM Subject: Re: Re: [TNHICKMA] Surnames - Duncan, Lampley, Sullivan, Robinson, Clark, Bryant, Rainey Lucian, Well you stumped me. I didn't have the census record for DC Miller and I don't have Thomas Pool Bateman in my records. It could be that he was just working on DCs farm. But, I think there might be more to it than that. What if, just thinking out loud, they were cousins by marriage? Dave's mother was Mary Polly Duncan. The Duncans and the Clarks married: Hiram W. Duncan (Mary's cousin) m. Elizabeth Clark. Elizabeth's Clark's half brother married Emeline Howell (b. 1829) parents unknown. I have a Elizabeth Howell born in 1825 who married a Thomas Jefferson Welch, whose mother was a Bryant. The Bryants and Duncan's also married. David's sister married into the Beasley Branch and the Beasleys and Clarks were also related. So there are a few different possible connections, but I haven't looked into it before. I may not have all of David Millers children, but none of the ones I do have married Howells or Batemans. I have the spouse surnames: Brown, Worley Williams, Hooten, Baker, Hunt, Savage and Lyell and Allen. (Incidently another Worley who was related: Ruth Worley was the mother of Capt. Jack Sullivan whose wife was Tennessee Ann Clark, daughter of Alexander Clark. Capt. Jack was killed by DC Miller.) The Batemans I have were married to Adams, Malray, Wiseman, Daves, Glyg, Loggins, Tidwell, Overby and Hood. This needs further exploration. Sorry, I have no answers for you. 1. Re: Re: [TNHICKMA] Surnames - Duncan, Lampley, Sullivan, Robinson, Clark, Bryant, Rainey
    2. Lucian, Well you stumped me. 1. Re: Re: [TNHICKMA] Surnames - Duncan, Lampley, Sullivan, Robinson, Clark, Bryant,...
    2. Joyce, My great ggg grandmother was Cynthia Marie Bryant. Her father was Jeremiah Bryant (6 Jan 1805-6 May 1886) and Sarah Cobb (1 Jun 1805-3 Apr 1892). Her grandfather Hezekiah Bryant (b. 1778). Cynthia had a sister Mary who was married to an Unknown Cochran and a William Spears. With William she had four children. The youngest of two daughters, Cynthia, married William Henry Overby, son of Daniel Overby and Sarah Frances (Sally) Parker. That is about all the Bryants I have. I am stuck on Hezekiah. He seems to have lived in Bedford County, though all the children were in Hickman. If this is your line, I have deeds to share and would love to find out more. Reddens: I have them marrying McMinn, Tidwell, Temples, Welch, Sullivans and Martins and Bells. Two Redden siblings married two children of Montgomery Bell. I have very little information on them and would refer you to Gordon if this is your line. I would like to find out more about A.J. Redden and Mary Jane Redden said to be the wifes of Aquilla Tidwell. I think they are the same people, but have never proven it. I have Englands marrying Sullivans, Bakers, Westcotts, Mangrums, Richards, Tummins, Stokes, Pace and Beard. Hamer married: Bozeman, Cothran, Naron, Galbreath, Hartley, Powell, Bell and Estes. There are so many Donnegans, that I will have to reply to this separately. As for as Bell and Estes. These are also my direct lines. My gggg grandfather is Elisha Estes who married Elizabeth Golding, daughter of William Golding and Sarah Bell. There are a lot of Bell Estes connections to the Fosters and Goldings. I have wills, deeds, histories, etc. Can I look up a specific name for you? If any of these interest you let me know and I will send what I have. 2. April, Just curious where your line descends from Joseph Lampley, Sr. My husband's line descends through Elizabeth Lampley who married Owen Jefferson Sullivan, Jr. and I was wondering if we connect. Let me know. Cindy
