Hi there...actually I was looking for any WALL or WALL families buried there. I just wrote down the WALL names. Sid WALL may be kin to our WALL/WALLS family from what we have been told. I don't have a clue about the Nix family. Sid WALL is buried on his property in the WALL cemetery there. This would be in the Bending CHestnut area of Williamson CO. Hi Marji, The book was speaking of another shooting that took place at Pinewood during the Civil War. Then it just says "Here at Pinewood Calvin Ladd shot and seriously wounded Aaron Caughran" Nothing else is written. I suppose it must have been during the Civil War. This has always been a puzzle to me as Calvin Ladd is my great grandfather. I suppose I may never find out as Hickman County Court House burned in 1865 and all records were lost. I am not sure where the deed books would be found, but I can tell you that yes there was a courthouse fire during the Civil War. From what I have been told that all records were destroyed in the fire. I went through the FHC Library catalogue, and found no will book, marriage bonds, probate or court records before 1844 on microfilm. I'm guessing a court house fire? Hi (is it?) Virginia, I was struck by your note with its mentionof George NICKS (who married in 1797) because we have an direct descendant from Hickman or Maury County, TN named Amanda Jane NIX (the spelling we have, but it's likely to be spelled either way or even MICKS). Her dates are (1826-1875) and she married a William T. LEEPER. I have her father as John William NIX (abt. 1797 - ?). Do have any more info about this George? Our John William NIX may have married a Betty SPRATT or Betty S. PRATT about 1814. William T. LEEPER's grand-father, Hugh LEEPER [Sr.] (abt. 1775-1818) is buried in Shady Grove, Hickman Co., TN. In between those two generations is Hugh's son and William T.'s father, Hugh LEEPER [Jr.] (1798, NC? - ?), who is said to have practiced medicine in Williamsport, just across the county line from Shady Grove. Your descendant's outline also has a RAGSDALE. I cannot put my finger on just what it was, but if my memory serves me, it was someone who lived with a LEEPER family but whose relationship was otherwise unclear. I didn't put the individual in my data base because I didn't know how to connect him or her (as a parent or child) to anyone else. If you thnk you mighrt be able to connet with any of this, I would be glad to share what I have.
