    3. OK, let me add a little activity to the list. I am researching the following family: Benjamin Housden (b 1781 Shenandoah County, Va) and his wife Elizabeth Turner (no further information about her). In about 1818 they migrated to an area between Franklin and Nashville Tennessee. They seemed to be fairly ordinary folks who kept a low profile (that translates into: it's difficult to find anything out about them). Some of their older children married in Williamson County and have disappeared. Benjamin (who had married and separeted from with ?? divorce a Hannah Leek nee Barnes) migrated to Henry County, Tennessee between 1845 and 1850 with his children. My worse fears about this family is that HOUSDEN said with a southern drawl might be interpreted by a census taker as HOUSTON happened in the 1850 census. Benjamin died in about 1853 (of course there was no will/ although there was a probate record.) with no indication of where he might be buried. Much of his family stayed in the northern part of the county, moving back and forth between Henry County, Tennessee and Calloway County, Kentucky. There are still Housdens in that area today. It is thought that they might have been share croppers who followed the waterways of the area. I have "sort of" put this family together but with their VERY low profiles there aren't a lot of records. I will list the names of folks who married into the Housden clan and hope that someone on this list recognizes a name and can help me verify some of the relationships and conclusions I have drawn about this branch of my family. This has gotten too long - will post the associated surnames tomorrow evening. Vicky Drake dvicky@primenet.com
