Writing article on an Atlanta neighbohood called Atkins Park started in the early 1900s by GROVE. He called this neighborhood Atkins Park. For years I have been asking folks where the neighborhood got its name. Today I think I found the connection. GROVE started his Grove Pharmacy and Paris Medicine Company and Grove Laboratories in Paris, Tn. And he is buried in Paris. (Don't know where) Possible connection for name of neighborhood in Atlanta, GA... During the Civil War, General John Dewitt Clinton Atkins, the only man to return to the U.S. Congress after serving in the Confederate Congress. He chaired the House Committee on Appropriations and later became Commissioner of Indian Affairs. Information much appreciate.
