On December 23, 1845 Thomas M. Williams and Nancy J. Simpson married in Henry County, Tennessee. Thomas stated that he was North Carolina (born March 1822) Nancy (born 3/15/29) said that she was from Tennessee. They went either directly or later to Carroll County as they show up on the 1860 census as living in district 15. Their children in this census are: Martha 12 Levi L. 9 Caban E. 4 William R. 6/12 In 1862 they had another son, Joseph McCall Williams. On April 16, 1864, they had another daughter, Nancy. Her mother Nancy died four days after this daughter was born, April 20,1864. And then Thomas died in May 12. Then the baby died in June. They are all buried in Brown #2 cemetery, which is near Concord. I do not know how they died. William R. (Bill) and Joseph M. both were raised as foster children by of the Brecheen family in Clarksburg (or the Bruncheon family of Clarksdale according to the 1870 census, but this seems to be written incorrectly). I do not know what happened to the child Caban E. Levi and Maticia Ray were married 3/11/68 and seem to have had a child named James who was 1 in the 1870 census. Maticia Ray does not appear on the 1870 census with Levi, but instead his sister Martha and he and James are listed in the district 15 where their parents lived. Is anyone else from this line? My brother and I are trying to trace back to the parents and home areas of Thomas W. McCall and Nancy J. Simpson as well as fill in the puzzle of what happened to Thomas W. McCall and Nancy J. Simpson. Thank you for any help, Wanda Hoerle
