Oglethorpe Co. GA, 1787, was in Clarke Co. GA by 1810, and in that same year he was also listed on the 1810 Davidson Co. TN Tax list. He was in Franklin Co. TN in 1820, and by 1826 he was in Humphreys Co. TN where he was ordained to preach there in 1826 by the Rushing's Creek Baptist Church. In 1829 he acquired 200 acres in Benton Co. TN, and apparently moved from there in about 1838. He was in Henry Co. TN in 1840, and soon thereafter he relocated to present day Panola Co. TX where he was active in early Baptist churches in the area. Could your source check the deed records concerning HERRIN, Lemuel, during the time 1838-1841? I'm trying to zero in on when he moved to Henry Co. TN, and when he left there for Texas. He died in 1852 and is buried in Panola Co. TX. His brother, Abner HERRIN, may also appear in the Henry Co. Tax records during the same time period. They were sons of Moses HERRRIN, and both had married HENDON sisters in GA.
