I suspect that they are the same man and that Julia is the second wife, but I can't confirm this. Counties/States in which Lemuel D. may have lived include the following: TN (Weakley, Henry, Hardin, Wayne) and NC (Currituck). My Lemuel D. Simmons: If he is the same as the Lemuel below, he was born ca. 1815. He died 1874-1876. He married Julia A. Baker on 4/29/1868. They married in or first lived in Sharon, TN. Julia was born ca. 1850-1860? and died ca. 1874 in premature childbirth when Malear was about 3/4 & Lee was about 4/5. She was adopted by Paschall Roberts & his wife Martha Wyatt when she was 6 years old; her brother Lee was taken in by another family (who unknown) but was not adopted (according to family tradition). Lemuel and Julia had only two children: (1) Lee -- b July 1868; m Lou/Louyz 1894; lived in Obion Co; children--4 or 6?--Mary?, Annie, Alvin, Arthur, Jimmy, Myrtle who died young (2) Mandy Malear -- b 10/3/1870 or 10/1871, Weakley Co, close to Dresden; m 1st William Lee Bennett on 1/12/1890, Obion Co, TN, children--8--Lea A., Bertha E., William A., Virgie F., Novie A., Madria Mae, Bessie F., James V.; m 2nd John Harvey Lamar on 12/9/1915, Henry Co, TN, no children together; d 11/2/1924, buried Buried at Olive Branch Cemetery along w/ 4 of her children.
