    2. Hi Bee, Here are your Bowden and Porter lookups. The entries are too numerous for me to do them all in full. I will abbreviate some entries rather than transcribe them. If any entry would be of critical interest to you, I will then give the details. Bowden Henry County Wills, Volume 1 Will Book A, Page 114 Samuel McGowen, Trustee Bond. Recorded 23rd March 1826. We, Samuel McGowen, John A. Newland, William Stewart, James Greer, and Elias Bowden, and Thomas Haynes, are bound to John Studdurt, Chairman of the County Court, in the sum of two thousand dollars, this 14th day of December 1825. The condition of the obligation is such that Samuel McGowen is appointed Trustee of Henry County, for the term of two years. If he shall faithfully keep and pay over all monies which come into his hand, and shall keep fair and regular accounts, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force. Henry County Wills, Volume 2 Inventory of the estate of Fielding Veasey includes a note from Benjamin Bowden for $19.00. Elias Bowden is the administrator of the estate. Not dated, but other entries are for June, 1830. Purchasers at the estate sale for Fielding Veasey included Dempsey Bowden, Thomas Bowden, Jesse Bowden, Lyon Bowden and Benjamin Bowden. Not dated, but other entries are for June, 1830. Benjamin Bowden was a purchaser at the estate sale for Organ House. Purchasers at the estate sale for William Phillips included Thomas Bowden, Benjamin Bowden, Dempsey Bowden, and Jesse Bowden. December 3, 1832. The estate of Samuel W. Flemming held a note from Dempsey Bowden for $6.05. The estate of Daniel Hanssborough held notes from Thomas Bowden and Dempsey Bowden. Dempsey Bowden and J. W. Taylor were the signers of the allowance for Sarah Davis, widow of Cyrus Davis. Charles Bowden was one of the signers of the allowance for Mary Brooks, widow of Jesse Brooks. There were a few other entries where the same Bowden men were buyers or had notes owed to estates. Henry County Wills, Volume 3, July 1835-March 1838 Benjamin Bowden, Dempsey Bowden, Jesse Bowden, Thomas Bowden, Elias Bowden were buyers or had vouchers with various estates and estate sales. Thomas Bowden was still a Commissioner. Will Book D, Page 240 Thomas Bowden was an administrator of the estate of James M. Daniel. Dec. 5, 1836 Will Book D, Page 257 Elias Bowden was an administrator of the estate of Fielding L. Veasey. Oct. 22, 1836 Will Book D, Page 187 Thomas Bowden was Guardian for the heirs of Fielding Veasey. Feb. 5, 1838 Henry County Wills, Volume 4, Dec. 1837-May 1841 D. Bowden, J. W. Bowden, B. T. Bowden, Dempsey Bowden, Benjamin Bowden, Thomas Bowden, were buyers or had accounts or notes or was paid from various estates. B. T. Bowden was administrator for the estate of Abraham Lumbrick. July 1, 1839 Henry County Wills, Volume 5, Feb. 1830-Jan. 1843 Elias Bowden, Thomas Bowden, A. Bowden, Clay Bowden, buyer B. T. Bowden was an administrator of the estate of Abraham Lumbrick. Oct. 6, 1841. Will Book F, Page 161 Will of Elias Bowden, deceased I. Elias Bowden, of Henry County, Tennessee, being in good health and memory, knowing the certainty of death, do make this my last will and testament, to wit. First, I submit my body to the earth and my sould to God who gave it, in full hope of eternal life through Christ Jesus my Lord, and now my earthly property that my God has given me, I wish to dispose of in the following manner. Second, what just debts I woe, I want the money collected if not in hand, and pay as soon as possible. Third, I want my beloved wife Celia, to have the interest of one thousand dollars during her life which is to come out of my estate when my property is sold, if not in hand or in bond, and the said money remain in the hands of my Executors, and for them to furnish her with the interest as she may want it. And to have her choice of either of my negro girls that she may think proper to make choice of to wait on her during her life, and to have one bed and furniture and to have her choice in that. And after her death to return to my children which I will name hereafter. It is my will and desire to five unto Francis Webb who calls me Uncle, three hundred dollars. Fifth, it is my will and desire to give my son Jesse W. Bowden, nine hundred dollars in addition to what I have given him heretofore, which is all I intend to give my above named son, Jesse W. Bowden. Sixth, it is my will and desire that the ballance of my children, to wit, Francis Gay, Dempsey Bowden, Thomas Bowden, Hollis Olive, though dead, her husband John Olive, to have the part that would have fell to her to dispose of as he may think proper as one of my legatees; Margaret A. Given, Jackey L. Howard, Benjamin G. Bowden, and as my Mary Searcy has had her equal share with the rest of my children heretofore and now married. The second time I cut her off as one of heirs by giving what would have fell to her, I give it to her children, to wit, Jackey Morphis, Robert Searcy, William Searcy, Jane Carter, Thomas Searcy and Mary Searcy, two hundred and fifty dollars each. Seventh, be it understood that the part that will fall to my daughter Francis Gay is to remain in the hands of my Executors and for her to have the interest of the money during her life, and after her death to be equally divided amongst her children, to wit, Eliza Jackson, Alfred Gay, Mary Gay, Martha Gay, Elbert Gay, Lunsford Gay, Thomas Gay, Jane Gay, William Gay and Marian Gay. Eighth, it is my will and desire that my servant Pressy to be at liberty to work for herself though to be under the control of my Executor, and should she become unable to support herself, it is my will that each of my legatees help to support her. Ninth, it is my will and desire that my son Dempsey Bowden, Thomas Bowden and Benjamin T. Bowden, Elias Bowden, B. F. Bowden, Benjamin Bowden, were buyers at various estates. B. T. Bowden, Thomas Bowden and D. Bowden were administrators of the estate of Francis Welsh. Will Book F, Page 235 Will of Francis Webb I, Francis Webb of Henry County and state of Tennessee, being sound in mind and memory know the certainty of death, do make this my last will and testament, to wit. First, I submit my body to the earth and my soul to God who gave it in full hope of eternal life through Christ Jesus my Lord. Secondly, what earthly property it hath pleased God to bless me with, I wish to dispose of in manner and for to wit. I wish all my just debts to be paid, if any. Fourth, it is my will and desire that the ballance hereafter name, to wit, Francis Gray, Demsey Bowden, Thomas Bowden, Mary Olive, the wife of John Olive, Margaret W. Guinn, Jackey L. Howard, Benjamin T. Bowden, and Jesse W. Bowden. Firth, it is my will and desire that Demsey Bowden, Thomas Bowden and Benjamin T. Bowden execute this my last will and testament.
