Thanks, Margie
Good Morning Margie, My relative, KATIE MAE HARRISON, married JAMES HANSFORD DORAN (born in Calloway County) in about 1944. After James died, she married THOMAS C. (TIP) DORAN. Katie Mae died September 18, 2006 in Murray, Calloway County, Kentucky. Do any of these names sound familiar? If those interested in the Dorans of Calloway Co, KY haven't found it, there is an excellent book of family histories produced by the Calloway Co. Genealogical Society. The title is "Lynn Grove ~ Harris Grove Family History" published by Turner Publishing. It contains a couple of pages of info. on the Doran families. A second book with about three pages of Doran information is "Calloway County Family History" from the same publisher. The last time I looked at Turner's web site, the books were still available. I have both and I'll do lookup if you can't locate copies. The second book states that Ambrose M. Doran was the earliest in Calloway County. He came from Graves County in about the 1860's. It notes that his father, Edward, was from North Carolina and came to Graves County in the 1820's through Tennessee.
