    3. A note on census access: Check your local libraries to see if any of them have or know of an area library that has a service called Heritage Quest Online, from ProQuest. Many libraries subscribe to this. It has almost all the censuses, most of them indexed and searchable. It also has online images of 20,000 plus genealogy and local history books. The entire 1880 census is online at the Mormon/LDS site (free to all) at http://familysearch.org Just click on Search for Ancestors and search away! Other free sites are at state and county rootsweb sites and US Genweb, e.g. And learn to do all sorts of internet searches with various free search tools (such as google.com). There is a wealth of info out there... I would suggest you learn as much as you can from all these before investing in commercial access. --- Betty & Mike Davey <[email protected]> wrote: > lorelle marinello wrote: > > > I'm considering subscribing to Ancestry.com > and wondered what you all > > think of it.
