When the weather gets much warmer : ), if you ever get to Groom cemetery in Henry County, I would love pics of the stones of Daniel Futrell and his wife Mary, my ggggrandparents.. There are only a few people buried there, so they are easy to find, although finding the cemetery may be difficult... Jim, I don't think you would have to worry about chiggers today!!! BRRRRR!!! Ha!Ha! It is snowing here in KY..I love it!! My only concern when I go graveyard hopping is if it is illegal or not to carry ticks across the state lines!! Ha!Ha! We seem to run across lots of those pesty critters..Although I am a country gal, I still detest ticks!! Snakes I can reason with, but ticks are a different matter.. I can't imagine that I have never seen the Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Henry Co..We go tromping all over the TN countryside in search of long lost old cemeteries..I love it!! I don't think my husband is that thrilled about it, but he never complains!! When I was a kid, I always mowed the local church cemeteries...at that point I could have cared less about my ancestors..But, I always enjoyed the peacefulness of them..Then as a teenager, we always parked in this real old remote cemetery out in the boonies called Asbury Graveyard...You know the kind of place that gave you gossebumps even in the daylight...At night you definitely had to cuddle up to someone to ward off boogie men..Ha!Ha! Those were the good old days!! If I had of known then what I know now, I might possibly have killed 2 birds with 1 stone...Ha!Ha! Although Asbury Graveyard is the neatest graveyard I have ever seen!! It is probably the oldest 1 that I have ever been in, and they are still burying people there toda! y..I know I have some very fond memories of it...possibly I should buy a plot there.. Well when the weather straightens up, my granddaughter & I will be off again...If any of you people out there need any tombstone pics...just let me know. I'll be glad to oblige you...I live in Calloway Co Ky, but I go over in TN all the time.. Later.. Sandy, I'll glady do that!! I will make a note & put the names in my folder right now..Strangely enough, I descend from Futrells also..and I am not having much luck finding them..Did you ancestors come from Northampton Co NC by any chance?? Don't worry, I'll find the cemetery..It may take several tries, but we always eventually find them..Hopefully, the weather will straighten up, and I'll get that way before long. I was just at Henry Co Library last week..I love that place! Later...
