    3. Hi Virginia, Would you please do a look-up for me in the McEvoy book? I've been trying to find out when my Dad's grandfather, John Mathis, died. Probably in the mid 1930's. Last record I find he was living in Trigg Co but had a son living in Henry Co TN. He was born in 1858. Thanks a bunch!     3. Hi Donna, I have some records of the Mathis family but no John b. 1858. I do have a John B. born 8/1/1855 in TN. Probably not the one you are looking for. The families are likely related. My Mathis line is from Leonard Mathis, b. 1801 NC, d. 1880 in Henry Co., TN. My records go back to Isaiah Mathis, born abt 1765 in NC, died 1824 in Trigg Co. KY.
