His wife's last name was believed to be Chunn. They both died in the 1850's and left children that were taken in by different families. I wrote down the Colley names because I thought they might come in handy for me later. I don't know where Ance and his wife were originally from, but I noticed several Colley's and Chunn's in Henry Co. TN.
Mary Louise, Thanks for the advertising. I will probably have Henry County wills up to 1863 done within two or three weeks. Right now I am working on Benton County deeds, and Christian County newspaper abstracts, and they should be done this week. At some point I have got to go to Nashville and order more microfilm, so suggestions are welcome. As I looked back into my family records, I found where one elderly family member from that area (he has since passed away) said Mr. Mebane returned his wife to Benton County or burial when she died. So, I guess I'm just following rumor. She might even be buried in Carroll Co. I know she is not buried in the cemetery in Carroll Co. where he is, because he's buried next to his first wife. If you have easy access to the cemetery books for these counties, would you please do another lookup for me? If there is no luck there, I still appreciate your reply and infor-mation.
Where could this book be purchased? I am interested in the book for our genealogy library collection. Melissa, you said the magic word: lookups. I would love death certificate information for my great-grandmother, who died in Fulton, Tennessee (yes, just across from Fulton, Kentucky) on June 28, 1920. I haven't found a death certificate in Kentucky archives, so I've wondered if her death certificate might have been done in Fulton, Obion County, Tennessee. Her name was Mary Davis Rascoe, born 25 May 1835. Thanks in advance for any help! Good Afternoon List, Today I received information that someone had ordered from the Henry County, Tennessee Archives that isn't mine. It was for the following person: Nancy Williams, 1853 - it appears to be a "Petition to Sell Land" and other related papers. Also, wondering if someone got the bonds/marriage licenses that I had ordered for (1) LEHIGH ALONZO SNOW & NETTIE GUPTON and (2) DELL(US) FRANKLIN SNOW & MARY LELA SEATON. I am also copying the lady that I ordered these from at the Archives. Thanks. Janis SNOW Mundy Reno, NV
