Is there anyone on the list that does lookups for obits???????? Thanks pj
I am looking for an obit for Samuel Gilliland or Gilleland. He was Rev. Samuel Gilliland pastor of United Methodist Church Paris, Henry county, TN 1832. By the 1850 census, he was no longer listed. Sorry I can't be more specific. Thank you so much for looking. I don't know whether or not you got any info on your question of the marriages. Unfortunately, older marriage licenses and certificates contained very little information. Those at the Rhea Library will help you as much as possible. Good luck. I have found a book at the Paris Library listing marriages, but it does not list much info, mainly just names of bride & groom & the date they got married. On a real marriage certificate, it usually list their parents' names. I have some ancestors that got married in Henry Co on February 16, 1845. Their names were Jesse Cooper McClure & Epsey McClure. I was really hoping to find more info on a real documented marriage license.. I plan to go to Rhea Library Friday, and I would appreciate any help or advice anyone could give me. I am at a total dead end on my McClures!! There has to be info out there somewhere about them..Are there any McClure descendants out there besides me??? > > Thanks muchly, > Joan Broach Morris > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to TNHENRY-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >

Thanks all of you for your replies!! I was hoping to get better news, but I guess if this genealogy searching was easy...it would not be any fun!! Ha!Ha! I will just have to keep searching & go at it in a different way, I guess..There has to be info out there somewhere..How do you go about finding other generations without written records?? I am totally stumped!! Thanks soooo much for all you all's help!! You Henry County Group are always sooo helpful. I really appreciate that... Joan Broach Morris

Several people have traced the McClures & posted online, but I have been told they are not correct...on my family anyway..It is really hard to prove anything when you can not find any real info anywhere..Do you descend from Jesse Cooper McClure & Epsey McClure also?
