    1. [TNHENRY-L] Overcast Query
    2. Curt Overcast
    3. Hello, I'm new to this list, so please bear with me. I am researching the OVERCAST line and found reference to George (64) and Margaret (55) OVERCAST from Henry County in the 1860 Tennessee census. Their children were listed as Margaret (28), Sarah (28), Cicero (24), Clementine (19), Ellen (17), George W.(12), and Benjamin F. (12). Also listed in the 1860 Henry County census is a W.S. (36) and Nancy (30) OVERCAST and children Tamsey J. (10), Sarah A. (7), Mary E. (15), John M. (3), and George F. (1). Nancy's maiden name could be HERRIDY or possibly HERITY. I believe John M. OVERCAST is my g-grandfather. I have information on him as an adult in Shannon County, Missouri, but nothing on his childhood or his family. I would most appreciate communicating with anyone who has any information on these or other Overcast descendants. Will gladly share any and all information I have. Thank you for any help you can provide. Curt Overcast Bothell, WA cmover@earthlink.net P.S. Census also shows Overcast's in Bedford County, Tennessee in 1840 (John and Sarah M. OVERCAST), but I don't see (or can't find) a mailing list for this county. Suggestions? Thanks, again.

I was especially interested in your Manly line because my sisters and I inherited from our father the land where the Manly cemetery is located. Although I live in Temecula, CA and rarely have visited Paris where my father lived and practiced law, I have been to the cemetery and found it as you described. I seem to recall that in addition to those that you mentioned, Angeline Manly Wynn, is also buried there. I had hoped to clean-up and preserve the cemetery, but because I live so far away and my sisters are not interested in keeping the property, I probably will sell the property. In any case, I will do what I can to ensure that the new owners feel the way I do about the cemetery. Marvin Morton III -- Faith in God is not a leap in the dark, it is a step into the light!
