OK, if there are any other descendants of John FRYER and Martha LANDRETH, let me hear from you. They are buried at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery in Henry Co, and Randy Flowers has the pieces to John's marker. He and I a bunch of other cousins of ours ( Genie Richardson, Andy and Bailey Abernathy, John Henry Fryer, Jr, ) are planning to get it repaired and rededicated. We are also working on repairs on the stones at Haymes Cemetery, of Alexander McCullough and Louisa Bomar, and of Ruben Bomar and Nancy Wood. We would welcome others joining in on the cost of the repairs, and would like to plan a rededication of them when it is done. Catherine Fryer Cline
OK, let me add a little activity to the list. I am researching the following family: Benjamin Housden (b 1781 Shenandoah County, Va) and his wife Elizabeth Turner (no further information about her). In about 1818 they migrated to an area between Franklin and Nashville Tennessee. They seemed to be fairly ordinary folks who kept a low profile (that translates into: it's difficult to find anything out about them). Some of their older children married in Williamson County and have disappeared. Benjamin (who had married and separeted from with ?? divorce a Hannah Leek nee Barnes) migrated to Henry County, Tennessee between 1845 and 1850 with his children. My worse fears about this family is that HOUSDEN said with a southern drawl might be interpreted by a census taker as HOUSTON happened in the 1850 census. Benjamin died in about 1853 (of course there was no will/ although there was a probate record.) with no indication of where he might be buried. Much of his family stayed in the northern part of the county, moving back and forth between Henry County, Tennessee and Calloway County, Kentucky. There are still Housdens in that area today. It is thought that they might have been share croppers who followed the waterways of the area. I have "sort of" put this family together but with their VERY low profiles there aren't a lot of records. I will list the names of folks who married into the Housden clan and hope that someone on this list recognizes a name and can help me verify some of the relationships and conclusions I have drawn about this branch of my family. This has gotten too long - will post the associated surnames tomorrow evening. Vicky Drake dvicky@primenet.com

I just returned from the Dallas Tx library where I found a book on the BILLIINGSLEY family. It lists my BINYON line that I have been researching in Henry Co. TN. When I first searched the LDS ancestry file, it listed William B. BINYON as being born in 1818 Henry Co. TN. Later it retracted the Henry Co. and listed 1818 TN. The Billingsley Book states that census records show him as being born in TN (as I have also found this to be true). It goes on to state that his son says that he was born in IL then moved to Henry Co. TN when he was 14 (1832) and resided there until 1856. He then moved to Anderson Co. TX. I found a Robert BINGHAM 37 b. NC, spouse Isabella 36 b. NC, children Elizabeth, Mary, Magdalen. The family next door: Ann Jane Bingham 80 b. NC, Mary 79, Ann Jan jr. 37, Sarah H 13, Matilda 30, Robert? 10, Anna 6, Thos. 5. I'm wondering if anyone is researching this family that may have a William B. in their line being b. 1818 TN. His name has been spelled Bingham on some Tx census. Hi Folks, These are not Henry County TN names (that I know of), but this is a very ancient Scottish family name. There are descendants of this clan Drummond associated family scattered world-wide. Even if not related to this family you might want to have a look at two really good web-pages with loads of information. Ken Doig's Home Page: http://www.psnw.com/~kendoig/ Dr. Suzanne Doig's home Page: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Academy/4038/index.html If nothing else the ancestry charts on Dr. Doig's page are fascinating. I am a Dog descendant (Walter Dog 1692) and am still wading through all this data to see just how I am related to all these folks. sometimes in genealogy you just plain get lucky and find someone else has done all the work you have been putting off.
