    3. Folks, If you receive and email from Jack/Regena Frost at "jrfrost@rectec.net", PLEASE DO NOT OPEN the attached file 'HAPPY.EXE '. Their system is infected with the "worm" program, HAPPY.EXE, and are sending it out to anyone they send an email to. I have unsubscribed them from our lists until they 'clean' their system. Email you receive from them on the lists from rootsweb should be "worm" free, but NOT personal email. Dave

If you haven't already heard about it please read: VIRUS ALERT <<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>><<<>>> ======================================================= With all the hoaxes and fake virus warnings that we see being passed around, it is easy to forget that there are real viruses out there with the capability to do real damage. One of the new viruses that is making the rounds on some mailing lists is the Happy99.exe or W32/Ska. This has infected several genealogy mailing lists and making a general nuisance of itself. 1. [TNHENRY-L] I Want
    2. Melissa Key
    3. "I WANT" I want ancestors with names like Rudimentary Montagnard or Melchizenick von Steubenhoffmannschild or Spetznatz Giafortoni, not William Brown or John Hunter or Mary Abbott. I want ancestors who could read and write, had their children baptized in recognized houses of worship, went to school, purchased land, left detailed wills (naming a huge extended family as legatees), had their photographs taken once a year -- subsequently putting said pictures in elaborate isinglass frames annotated with calligraphic inscriptions, and carved voluble and informative inscriptions in their headstones. I want relatives who managed to bury their predecessors in established, still-extant (and indexed) cemeteries. I want family members who wrote memoirs, who enlisted in the military as officers and who served in strategically important (and well documented) skirmishes. I want relatives who served as councilmen, schoolteachers, county clerks and town historians. I want relatives who `religiously' wrote in the family Bible, journaling every little event and detailing the familial relationship of every visitor. In the case of immigrant progenitors, I want them to have arrived only in those years wherein passenger lists were indexed by National Archives, and I want them to have applied for citizenship, and to have done so only in those jurisdictions which have since established indices. I want relatives who were patriotic and clubby, who joined every patrimonial society they could find, who kept diaries, and listed all their addresses, who had paintings made of their houses, and who dated every piece of paper they touched. I want forebears who were wealthy enough to afford, and to keep for generations, the tribal homestead, and who left all the aforementioned pictures and diaries and journals intact in the library. But most of all, I want relatives I can FIND!!!

    1. [TNHENRY-L] Looking for Cynthia Wilson
    2. Debbie Martin
    3. I am looking for my GGG Grandmother Cynthia (Cinthia) Wilson. She was born in TN, probably Henry Co. between 1815-1819. She married Isaac Ferguson on Feb 1, 1844 in Henry Co. She and Isaac moved to Calloway Co. KY. They were listed there in the 1850 census. They have not been located for the 1860 census. Cynthia was back in Henry Co., as the Head of Household in 1870. She died in 1913 in Henry Co. I have been unable to locate Cynthia's parents. Her G grandson who is still living, thinks he remembers the family saying that Cynthia was Native American, but he can't remember anything else about her family. ANY HELP would be appreciated. Debbie

Cemetery book Send reply to: Janie Ridley Bice <jrbice1@airmail.net> Date sent: Thu, 4 Feb 1999 23:21:43 +0500 Hi, I just noticed your message on the Danville list regarding a cemetery book of Henry Co. I have several ancestors buried there and have found several mistakes in previous books regarding their burial places. There is one obvious error in "Inscriptions in Stone" published in 1989 by the Paris Genealogical Society regarding a small family cemetery. On the Elkhorn Nobles Road and known in previous books as the "Thompson Cemetery." (#196 in their book), was first the the homeplace of early settler, John McNeill Williams. He and he and several of his children are buried there today. The home and acreage later was owned by the Thompson family. I believe this should be labeled in your book the Williams- Thompson Cemetery so that future researchers will be better able to find it. I had much difficulty locating it, since I do not live in that area. My great great grandmother's grave is there beside her father but was left off entirely in the previous book. Her name is Hannah Hudnall Williams Ridley. She was the daughter of John McNeill Williams and Lucy Ann Courts Williams. She was born Nov. 19, 1820 and died March 9,. 1858. Her father is John McNeill Williams b. 28 Aug 1799 and died 1 July 1863. The cemetery is located at 1235 Elkhorn Nobles Road. The present owners told me when they purchased the home and surrounding acreage Hannah's stone was buried under 3 in. of soil and none of the Williams stones were standing. In fact, two were broken. Mr. Butler repaired them and cleaned up the small plot. I have photos as documentation if you would desire. I appreciate you including my ancestors in any future publications. Other family members and children of John M. and Lucy A. Courts Williams buried there include: John M. Williams, Jr. b. 28 Aug 1835 d. 19 Oct 1856 Edwin R. It was used as an overnight stopping place for freight wagons hauling goods to be loaded aboard steamers on the Tennessee River. The inn might be compared to truck stops along today's interstates except drivers were teamsters driving teams of mules and horses pulling wagons loaded with bales of cotton, etc. It now belongs to the Upchurch family and is in bad shape. I got to see it a couple of years ago during a visit back to Henry County searching for ancestors. The old wagon ruts can still be seen in the old trail which runs in front of the place. The John M. 1. [TNHENRY-L] Brannon, Thomas
    2. Carey Rogers
    3. Looking for information on a Thomas Brannon born in Kentucky about 1818 who is in Henry County Tennessee by 1840. In the census he is living close to another Thomas Brannon who was born about 1770-80, presumedly his father. The younger Thomas is in Calloway County, Kentucky in the 1850 census with his wife Martha and their children. He probably died before 1860 as Martha is back in Henry County in 1860 without him. Does anyone have any Brannons that were in Kentucky about 1820 that might be related to these folks? 1. [TNHENRY-L] Walker Family
    2. Jan: Your Walkers don't sound familiar to me, but I have just started researching the Walkers so I don't have much information. My gggrandmother, Elizabeth C. WALKER (b. 1 Nov. 1820 TN; d. 1 Mar. 1898, Henry County TN) married William F. ENGLAND in 1848, Henry County TN. They are both buried in the Walker Cemetery near Cottage Grove, Henry County TN. Buried right near them is James Walker, b. 4 Jul. 1794, d. 25 Feb. 1860. Next is Sarah wife of James Walker d. 1 Nov. 1858 56 y 7m's 5 d's. Next is Isabella R., wife of James Walker b. 22 Sept. 1800, d.16 Aug. 1846. Next Andrew A. son of J. & Isabella R. Walker d. 5 Sept, 1853 26 y 7 m's 8 d's. Next William Walker 1825-1894 and his wife Lauinai. This leads me to believe this might be her family. I would think that Isabella & James are her parents and Andrew & William might be brothers. the dates all seem to fit. Also Elizabeth had a daughter named Isabella. Do any of these names sound familiar to you? Thank you, Andrea Padula
