    1. [TNHENRY-L] DC Homecoming Auction
    2. ace1125
    3. Hey! I have a new text on researching Civil War Genealogy for the auction.... and a 'gently' used Goodspeed on Houston Co.. Got me to thinking... What would be wrong with a 'gently' used text for the auction? I don't see a problem with it..as long as it hasn't been used to whip the dog... or been a coaster for your tea...<bg> So if you have some text you have gleaned info from and dont really want ... bring em on.. Have you been thinking about what else you could donate? Hope so... We wanta have some fine worldly goods there...

    1. Re: [TNHENRY-L] Hello!
    2. Juliane
    3. Thank you so much for your reply! I think the name must be a mistake...I have located Peter and wife Mary on the 1850 Census living in Weakley Cty. TN, with my great-grandfather Julius who would have been 11 at the time. On the listing, he is written as "Inkas" (???) which is again, probably a mistake (unless it was a pet name). The birthdates and places match, so I am sure it is the right Gale. Do you have any suggestions about other documents that might list his exact place of birth? I am trying to track down as many Gales as I can, hopefully to find out where in Great Britain the family came from (and get all the information I can about all the family along the way). I am just starting out in my searching - a cousin of mine has been doing this for some years, but she isn't nearby, nor is she on-line. It's wonderful to have so much access to both information and people! Thanks again for your help! Juliane Gale Bertagne >Juliane, > According to the marriage indexes his name is listed as Peter F. Gales. >But to answer your question you would write to the Henry Co., Court house >and ask them to send you a copy. Tell them it is in Book 1838-1845. 1. [TNHENRY-L] Hello!
    2. Juliane
    3. Hello, I have just joined this list in hopes of finding some information on my great-great-grandfather, Peter F. Gale, born in 1814, and my great-great-grandmother, Mary Jones, born in 1807. I know that they were married in Henry, I believe in the town, on September 15, 1838. Can anyone tell me how to go about getting their marriage certificate, if it exists? I obtained the date from the Latter-Day Saint genealogy site. Peter F. Gale was born in North Carolina, and Mary Jones was born in Kentucky, if that is any help. I'd like to get more information about his parents, where exactly he was born, what he did, etc. Thank you for your help. Juliane Gale Bertagne
