    3. 1. Would like information on the family of Elizabeth (Betsy) Upchurch or Rumbley born September 07, 1825 and died March 25, 1870. She married James Richamond (J. R.) Weaks/Weeks. 2. Also need help in finding the family of Martha (Mattie) Ellis born probably in the 1850's. I hope to connect her to an Ellis family. 3. Need help with Joseph Brannon. He was likely born around 1835-1840 and lived in Henry Co. His daughter was Amanda C. (Manda) Brannon, born 1859 in Henry Co. Thanks, Pat

    2. Hello I am researching the Jenkins family in early Henry Co. Lucy Ann Jenkins was born abt. 1838 in Paris, TN. I have no documentation just word of mouth. So any help in that area would be appreciated. Lucy's parents were Thomas W. and Mary D. Jenkins. They all moved to Calloway Co abt. 1840. A cousin just told me she may have married in 1881 to Thomas Pritchett. She died and buried in Grapevine Cemetery in TN. Is this cemetery in Henry Co? Anyone connected to the Pritchett family? Jenkins family is my brick wall. Nina Williams WA State

    3. A note on census access: Check your local libraries to see if any of them have or know of an area library that has a service called Heritage Quest Online, from ProQuest. Many libraries subscribe to this. It has almost all the censuses, most of them indexed and searchable. It also has online images of 20,000 plus genealogy and local history books. The entire 1880 census is online at the Mormon/LDS site (free to all) at http://familysearch.org Just click on Search for Ancestors and search away! Other free sites are at state and county rootsweb sites and US Genweb, e.g. And learn to do all sorts of internet searches with various free search tools (such as google.com). There is a wealth of info out there... I would suggest you learn as much as you can from all these before investing in commercial access. --- Betty & Mike Davey <[email protected]> wrote: > lorelle marinello wrote: > > > I'm considering subscribing to Ancestry.com > and wondered what you all > > think of it. If you dont have a direct link to your ancestors who may have come from say, England or Wales then you dont need to spend money on their UK collection or immigration collection yet. You probably dont need the historcal newspapers either but you pretty much have to have the census subscription to get anywhere searching for your families. And you may want the US records. So, pay for only what you need now. You can always add more later if you choose. And dont forget how many wonderful free sites are on the net because of the research provided by thoughtful, dedicated volunteers! Hope this is helpful to you. Betty
