Yes, I know Marybelle very well She married Freeman Norwood (my relative) They did not have children They have just moved to an assisted living home, Morningside of Paris, here. It is a really nice place. They lived in Florida where Marybelle worked for a telephone company. They retired back in Henry County near their families. Many of his siblings lived in this neighborhood and they moved next door to her brother W. C. Flowers. Manlyville is still there. I live not far from there. Manleyville as so many little community villages has lost it's charm through fires and old buildings torn down. And Hickman Ky. There were five children. James Earl, Evleanor, Mable, Edward, Mary, Willie Mae. There seems to be two other children left in Blythesville in an orphanage. Thanks, Joy, for posting this. The Henry County Library and Inman Room Genealogy Collection site are a wonderful resource! And their staff of volunteers are absolutely great. There is close collaboration with the Henry County Genealogical Society. The Inman room is named for a former County Historian, and Linda Dunlap, the current librarian is working with others to index the county archives. These are great people. as you can see at http://www.angelfire.com/tn2/woinman/ And thanks to you all for the fun thread on the 14 census records from 1840. The thing that struck me was the age of the persons, and that some of them were women! Interesting research topic: in those censuses which named only head-of-household, how many females showed up? Another question is how did the colonial governments considered those were holding the "Western front" against the english-indian "aliance" but not part of the "polite and official" military units? Any one looking for a doctoral dissertation here?
