    2. Well, I'm ashamed. You'd think I could get it right with someone directing me. I've gotta quit staying up so late. Adam is now Andrew, like you told me in the first place. Third time's the charm they say. Let's hope this one takes. Peggy

    3. Peggy, one more correction on 373A, 14, 114 - the child Adam M. Martin should be Andrew M. Martin, as shown in original census image. I know how tedious this kind of typing can be so get some rest!! 2. Hi Genie, The corrections you gave me are now in place. Please check to make sure I didn't screw up again. That must have been one of those nights when I was cross-eyed from trying to decipher that old handwriting. I know there are other mistakes as well and I will correct them as they are brought to my attention. I'm still a little afraid to mess with the pages now that they all work correctly, but this change seemed to work fine. If you have anything you would like to add to the pages please sent it on and I will add it with an acknowledgment for the contributor. Even an old obit from a drawer or Bible might be a great help to someone out there. Thanks for letting me know. Peggy

    2. I have put the 1850 census and the district map, along with some other information, on Rootswebs' Freepages at this address. _http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~searcher50/index.htm_ (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~searcher50/index.htm) The site is called Tennessee Sharing. I think you will find the census a lot more user friendly than the original one I did that is on the Henry County GenWeb site. The district map is bigger and easier to read, too. I think I have all the bugs out, but I hope you'll let me know if you find any. I'm new at this so these are not the most gorgeous pages on the Internet, but I think they will be useful. I have corrected the errors that any of you shared with me from the original census and will be happy to correct any more that you find. I will also be happy to include information that any of you would like to share with others on the Internet. Credit for sharing will be given to anyone who chooses to do this. I hope this is helpful to you. Peggy

    3. Peggy, these two entries in the 1850 census (Henry Co., 14th dist.) seem to be in error, plus an omission from the same family group: 373A 14 114 HOPE, ISAAC R. 11 M W TENNESSEE ATTENDED SCHOOL 373A 14 114 HOPE, BEATTY H. M. 5 M W TENNESSEE The HOPE child listed as Isaac R. should read James K. (for "King" Kincaid) HOPE - I know the james k. is a little hard to read. The second child should be Martin, Beatty H. M., not a HOPE at all, but their young half-brother. Martin, Andrew M., 3, was omitted altogether from your listing though he is in the census image. Thank you for posting all this. 3. The George W. (some researchers think this is Washington and that name is used some in the NC records) Moore m. Mary Ann Crutchfield does have a will naming two sons and wife by name. There is also an Obit. There were 12 children but some were already dead before their father. He is a CSA veteran.
