    3. Hi, Roxanne, I double-checked under the Gore surname and the Guinn surname, but no Harlan or Cora. I'd be happy to send you scans of the pages if you'd like to see them. Email me off list with your snail mail address. I assure you and all on the TNHENRY list that I do not charge; just paying forward the kindness of a number of great folks in Henry County who have helped me so much. Cheers, Mary ps: those of you who have lots of Henry County ancestors, buy the book and support the wonderful Inman Room at the Rhea Library. 1. Newton O'guin or Guin
    2. What I have found on Newton O'Guin is this: 1850 Perry County, TN listed as Newton O'Guin, born 1835, TN. Son of David O'Guin, born 1805, SC, and Mary, born 1810, birthplace unreadable. Siblings are Tray?, 1833, TN, Solomon, 1837, TN, Sarah, 1839, TN, Rutha, 1847, TN and Mary D., 1850, TN. Looks like Mary could be a second wife and not the mother of the older children. Living with them is Nancy Ingram, 35, TN with Ann, John and James A. Ingram 1860 Perry County, TN listed as Newton Guin, born 1835, TN, farmer, with wife Manerva C., 1836, TN, and children Nancy J., 1856, TN and James A., 1859, TN. 1870 Perry County, TN listed as Newton O'Gwinn, born 1835, TN, carpenter, with James, 10, and John, 5, both born in TN. They are living in the household of Augustus Patry, 51, France, and Mary J., 36, TN. 1880 Perry County, TN James A. O'Guin, 21, TN, is a servant in the household of C. W. Ledbetter. I could not find Newton anywhere in 1880, which would probably be the most useful for you. At this moment Ancestry won't load 1900 Tennessee pages, which makes me hopeful that it will be searchable in the next few days. I did find him in 1910 in Henry County. On the 1891 voters registration there is a Newon Guin in Franklin and Grundy Counties, but that doesn't help much. Hope this is your guy. Peggy

    1. CHAPEL HILL CEMETERY
    2. JOAN MORRIS
    3. Janis, Chapel Hill would probably be listed under South Fulton TN..It is on the main road that goes from Fulton TN to Martin TN..I think the name of the road is possibly Chapel Hill Road.. It is across the road from Jolley Springs Road. I am not from TN, but we had a wreck there once..so I'll never forget the name of that road.. I suggest that you look under South Fulton TN...I'm almost positive that the old church is still in use.. Joan Broach Morris -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. 3. Roxanne, by using the spelling Peggy gave, you can come up with a number of Guin families listed in the census records for Henry Co. 3. The Chapel Hill Cemetery in Henry County is active and the church still has services. As far as I know, there are no records for burial plots. Here are directions to the church.: From 641 North from Paris, turn right on Vaughn Road, then left on Old Paris Murray Rd., turn right on Chapel Hill Rd. The church and cemetery are on your left. As the name implies--on a hill! ----- Original Message ----- From: "JOAN MORRIS" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, January 22, 2005 8:07 PM Subject: [TNHENRY] CHAPEL HILL CEMETERY

    1. J. D. Gore Marriage
    2. Hi Roxanne, Although you didn't ask for it and may not need it, I have the marriage record for J. D. Gore and Cora Guinn in Henry County Marriages 1901-1910, page 31, as Feb. 7, 1908. Since the name is listed as Guinn instead of O'Guin, I thought this might be a clue as to why you are having a hard time tracing these folks. Hope this helps. Peggy

    3. Dear Roxanne, Im probably not the one who looked up the Snow family but I will give you the O'Guin family. There are only a few entries in the book. They are as follows: O'Guin Anne E, 1917-1995, m: Carlton N, 25 Mar 1938, Simmons Carlton N, 29 Sep 1913-26, Oct 1972 Simmons Lida (see Mealer) O'Guinn Anna Lee McIntosh, 12 Dec 1892-22 Jul 1967, w/o Leslie G, Maplewood Leslie Guy, 13 March 1885-6 Nov. 1962 Maplewood. March 24, 1993 If shes yours, you could get a copy of the SS from or a death cert or possibly even an obit. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janis Mundy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, January 21, 2005 12:03 AM Subject: [TNHENRY] CHAPEL HILL CEMETERY in Henry County > Dear List: > > A very kind lady on this List sent me the pages with the SNOW surname on > them from the "Compilation of Henry County, Tennessee Vital Records, 1764 - > 2002". 1. CHAPEL HILL CEMETERY
    2. JOAN MORRIS
    3. Janis, I think Betty hit the nail on the head..There is a Chapel Hill Cemetery outside of Fulton going towards Martin..A member of this group (I won't mention any name, but she knows who she is) helped me find some of my relatives there..That is probably what you are looking for..I think she told me it was in Weakley Co now..used to be part of Obion Co.....But, that is probably your Chapel Hill..It is a really nice cemetery with an active old church..It looks like it is still; in use anyway.. 3. Thanks for posting this. A Mildred Tharpe of the same name listed was an in-law of ours; she md. a Henry Co.
