Cheap Valley was located in Civil District 13 which is North and a little West of Paris in Henry County. It is West of the Puryear and Conyersville area. Puryear is located about on the N-S boundary between dist. 13 and 14. The North boundary of dist. 13 is the Tennessee-Kentucky state line. I'm not sure exactly where the post office was located but it was used as a location reference on the census records through 1870. Hope this helps. Stewart was born 1817 in Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Moore who was born 1815 in North Carolina. Elizabeth had a brother named Smith B. Moore who lived with Alexander and Elizabeth at one time. Alexander and Elizabeth had the following children: Thomas A. born 1841 in Kentucky; Smith W. born 21 Jul 1845 in Tennessee; Ann E. born 1848 in Illinois; and Robert born 1815 in Illinois. Alexander was a physician and died sometime between 1850 and 1860 in Johnson County, Illinois. Smith was supposed to have been born in Henry County, Tennessee and the two younger children were born in Johnson County, Illinois. It is unknown where in Kentucky Alexander was born or where the oldest child, Thomas, was born. Please let me know if you think that there may be a connection. No one has ever been able to come up with any information regarding Alexander's parents.

She had married John J. Screen July 25, 1907 in Mason Co, IL. I could not find an obit for her; her death cert was filled out by husband (he did not even know mothers name). Her husband put William Butler born PA and Mother Butler born IL. I am trying to find more info on William Butler and Bridget Freeney--they were married in Boulder Co, CO on Feb 24, 1881; I found Wm. Butler listed in 1880 Census in Mosquito Gulch, Park Co., CO listed as single, miner, white born Ireland and Parents born Ireland. I believe same person--Where did they go? William and Bridget Butler? When did they die? How did Josephine get to IL to marry John Screen?
