He is in the 1850 & 1860 Henderson county census. Of course they both have conflicting info, if the transcriptions are correct. I have tried to tie him into the NC Ross line without success. Here's what I have: October 2,1850 Henderson County, TN Census: This one has James born in AL about 1787. James Ross, m, 63, farmer, $500., Ala. -My GGGGrandfather Hannah, 36, f, TN Sarah, 30, f, TN John M., 24, m, farmer, TN. -My GGGrandfather Laura A., f, 21, TN Lucy A., f, 6, TN Rebecca F., 4, f, TN Nancy, f, 6/12, TN Margant E. HICKS, 8, f, MO --------- 1860 Census Henderson Co TN This one has J.S. (I assume is James) born in MD? (can’t read it well) born 1783 Ross, J.S. age 77 M W Md 6 84 506 Ross, Hannah age 47 F W TN 6 84 506 Ross, Lucy A. age 16 F W TN 6 84 506 Ross, Rebecca F. 14 F W TN 6 84 506 Ross, S.S. 48 F W NC 6 84 506 Stewart, William 19 M W TN 6 84 506 I don’t know who this S.S. Ross and William Stewart are? But my Faucett line that married the Ross, is connected to the Stewarts.
