Surnames: Pirtle/Cook Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AgB.2ACE/196 Message Board Post: I am told that my greatgrandfather was John Cook; that he married a Margaret, or Maggie Pirtle, and, before my grandfather, John Roland Cook, was born, he abandoned the family in Paducah, Kentucky. My relatives are not certain, but I am told that my greatgrandma Pirtle was very closely related to Ollie Pirtle. He is now dead, but his daughter, Ollie Fay, might still be alive, or relatives, or friends. This group of the Pirtles lived in Henderson County from the mid 1850's, until at least the 1930's. I've found them on the Censuses from the USGenNet site. If anyone has any information about either my greatgrandpa Cook, or my greatgrandma Pirtle, please let me know. I do not even have a photo of either of them; I am determined to once and for all track down the family, both Cook, and Pirtle, and I'll welcome any information.
