This has been the worst storm in my fourty years living in Lexington. Yes the Everett Horn Library was damaged. We are luck because the Major Market across the street was completely leveled. In a radio interview this afternoon about 4:00 p.m. Diane, the Librarian, said she that since about 2:00 a.m. she had been trying to cover as many of the materials as she could with plastic. She said about 25% of the roof is gone. She said they made a special effort to care for the irreplaceable items such as those in the Tennessee Room. It will be a while before the library is operating again. That's all I know for now.
