Jesse was born abt. 1760 in Halifax Co., NC. --In 1790 Jesse GARLAND was on the Pendleton Co., SC census and owned land there --By 1798 they were in Davidson Co., TN where Jesse owned land --Abt. 1826, Jesse and Sarah moved to Henderson Co., TN, the 15th District -- to the area that is now a part of the Natchez Trace Park --In 1830, Jesse is on the Henderson Co., TN census. Also on this census are the William HUIE and Martin LEONARD families. --Jesse died abt. 1838 in Henderson Co. -- burial place is unknown --Sarah died abt. 1843 in Henderson Co. -- burial place is unknown --Jesse and Sarah had 10 children. Several moved to Henderson Co. with their parents in the late 1820s to early 1830s. The children were: 1. Martha Patsy GARLAND, m.
