TN 13 DEC 2005 ABSTRACT Article written by Donna Usery, originally appeared in News Leader, Parsons, TN Headline in "Progress": Local Efforts Underway to Preserve Old School DOE CREEK SCHOOLHOUSE, Doe Creek Road on southeastern border of HeCoTn, near Decatur CoTn line, has been nominated for placement on National Register of Historic Places along with the adjoining DOE CREEK CEMETERY. -school closed 1948 -constructed in 1870s, first used as Baptist Church, later Church of Christ, finally a schoolhouse -24 by 30 ft. log house, only remaining intact 1-room, log school bldg. in West TN in its original location Henderson and Decatur Co.
