Spelling was changed at the orphanage from WILES. What stories have you heard about the famous Dan Patch? These Wyandot Co OH children of divorced John Wiles and Elizabeth Jane Deringer were put into an orphanage around 1888-1889 somewhere supposedly near Cleveland, OH. Mary Miranda Wiles December 02, 1875 William Thomas Wyles March 31, 1878 John Jacob Wyles July 05, 1880 Elizabeth Melvina Wiles October 10, 1882 Isaac Clarence Wiles (Clarence Stoneburner?) May 19, 1884 The two sisters we believe stayed with their mother, but we aren't sure. Their mother remarried a Richard Stoneburner and moved to 1900 Henry OH , 1910 Adams IN, and then 1920-30 Henderson TN. Elizabeth Deringer Stoneburner was last known to be living somewhere near Columbus, OH in the 1940's. Location of her daughter, Elizabeth, is still a mystery. Daughter Mary is known to have married an Edward SLOUGH in Defiance OH and his son, Edgar, is found in Stark OH after 1930. Unknown what happened to Mary and Edward? We belive her son, Clarence, lived in Toledo, OH in 1940's per his brother, John's obit in Canton, OH although we can't find any of his descendent now?
