Great-granddaddy Jamison was involved in it, I understand, and was later injured at Shiloh. Talk about fighting on home turf! Incidentally, the Gowen Manuscript was most interesting. Following the travels of Gowen curiously match very closely some of my husband's family -- Independence County Arkanas, the shift from there to Lamar County, Texas. Fascinating.
