Likely someone may have a lead for you regarding "Morning Sun". It has been my experience, many times a community within a county was named for landmark, i.e. a church, post office. TN when it was built, but I don't know how close the location you seek was to the highway. I also don't know when construction started on I-40 through both those counties. Early newspapers of Carroll Co. TN might shed some light, if any were available. The new pictorial book by Brenda Fiddler has section on Civil War.
