I thought I would share with all of you some information from BRENDA FIDDLER's email to me. Brenda is the librarian at Lexington High School, Lexington. The information about the "BAPTIST REFLECTOR" is something I didn't know about. It gives me another source to check out. (see below) Brenda continues working on her 2nd pictorial book of residents of Henderson Co. TN. By the way, her old email address no longer works. Linda >From Brenda's email: "Re. the book, still working on it! We are doing the layouts now in such a way that we can add additional photos. And we are still having great offers from both local people who have delayed getting in their trunk or attic as well as people from outside the area who have just heard about it and are sending pictures." "I started typing all these old obituaries I have found while looking for pictures. I definitely have another book of obituaries to print. Jonathan Smith is giving me permission to include all his abstracts from the "Nashville Christian Advocate", Memphis and Nashville newspapers. In many instances he is photocopying for me the complete obituary for persons from Henderson County if there is interesting data, etc. Lambuth College has those microfilmed papers. Union University is"supposed" to have the Baptist Reflector collection on microfilm but they say they can't afford it. So getting to the Baptist Reflector (and all those wonderful obituaries)....." " I have also started scanning the Commercial Appeal newspapers for the years that are missing from the Progress, i.e, 1912, when not a single Progress issue is on microfilm. I am re-reading the Lexington Republican microfilm and found a reference to the county fair--think it is was 1922. . . . ."
