Hello, I am descended of William M. Martin and Mary M. Young, of Henderson Co TN. According to the Henderson Co Guardian Bonds, 1861-1892, here are some Guardian records. William M. Martin, b. 1825 NC, died, and left young children with his wife. I believe that B.J. Young is the brother to Mary M. Young b. 1825 NC. I believe that I have discovered 2 different set of Court-Appointed Guardinaships, both surnamed MARTIN, and both at the same place at the same time. I do not know if they are related, or not. The eldest son of William and Mary was George Wesley Martin b. 1849 NC, he married Martha Virginia Cunningham, and I believe she is the grandaughter of Ramsom Cunningham, of Henderson Co TN. #52. Elizabeth, Martha Cunningham: Ransom Cunningham: E. W. Cunningham, 6-3-1861 #88. Margaret E., Joseph, W.H. Martin: Benjamin Martin: A. E. Aydlott, 9-6-1869 Note: I believe that to be Andrew E. Aydelott. #159. Caroline, Druzilla, Joseph A., Isabella Martin: William M. Martin: B. J. Young, Dec 7, 1874. Note: This shows 4 minor children of the deceased man William M. Martin, and the court has appointed B. J. Young to be Legal Guardian of them. Their mother was alive, but legally a "woman" could not have guardianship, had to be MALE, so I believe that B. J. YOUNG is her brother. B.J. Young married Druzilla H. surname unknown. They are both buried at Caffey Cemetery, Henderson Co TN, along with their son Joseph M. Young. #166. Chritine E. Hurt: Mary Hurt: B.J. Young, 3-1-1875. Note: I do not know who the Hurt family is, but here again B. J. Young is appointed guardian of the minor child of a deceased Mary Hurt. #169. Mary E., Joseph, William Martin: Benjamin Martin: A. E. Aydelott, 8-2-1875. Note: I am wondering if Benjamin Martin is kin to my ancestor William M. Martin? Who is this Mr. Aydelott? Go to www.familysearch.org and look at the 1880 census, put in Mary Martin b. 1825 NC and you will find her and her younger kids, you can also find her oldest son George Wesley Martin there, as well as : JAMES NATHANIEL MARTIN B. 1836. Lilly, Your surnames caught my attention. Although I do not recognize any of the given manes. My Adams family came from Reidsville, Rockingham Co., NC to TN sometime prior to 1799 and settled in Davidson Co., now Williamson Co., TN. They eventually moved to Giles Co., TN and then to Lauderdale Co., AL and then up the TN River to the Hardin and Henderson Co. line. While in Lauderdale Co., AL, some of them intermarried with the Martins. Also, when my ancestor, Daniel Adams settled in Hardin County he lived on the adjoining property to Wm. C. Cunningham. I am not sure if any of my ancestors are connected with yours but it is at least interesting.
