I am hoping you have been able to find some info since your posting that you would be willing to share with me. 1860 Henderson co, TN census Carter , Jessee (Jepe?) 55 age bp NC dist 15 pg 225 house 1453 Elizabeth 55 NC 15 225 1453 Christenberry, J.G.W. 33 "gentleman" 33age bp TN 15 225 1453 Carter, J.M. 24 age TN dist 15 225 1454 (next door to Jesse) S.E. 23 TN 15 225 1454 Calvin 3 TN 15 225 1454 My line is as follows: Mary Maria Christenberry and Charles Pinkney Carter . Father of Mary is WIlliam Christenberry. William has a brother named Thomas. Thomas m. Mahala Fisher . They had Sarah E. Christenberry. Sarah E. Christenberry m. J.M. Carter. Sarah and J.M. had children: John Calvin Carter, b. 1859, Mahala, abt. 1863 and Jennie. Here is the problem: John Calvin, Mahala and Jennie live with William Christenberry after the civil war. There is no sign of either parent. In the above 1860 census, you'll see J.G.W. Chrsitenberry is living with Jesse and Elizabeth Carter, parents of J.M. Carter who maried Sarah Christenberry. Is J.G.W. Sarah's brother? How does he fit in this picture?
