    1. Re: [TNHENDER] 1850 & 60 Census AUSTIN
    2. re:..... 2 Charles Pleasant Austin 1846 - On 1850 census Henderson Co. TN index was a: Pleasant Austin, male, age 5 yrs., born NC, District 13 page 204B He might be the Charles Pleasant Austin you listed. Source: http://www.tngenweb.org/henderson/1850_HendersonCoTN_Census_A.htm It is highly likely that Jeremiah Austin died before 1850 if no children have been found born after 1850. He could be buried in one of many, many unmarked graves. Most grave markers using sandstone did not survive. I would find this Pleasant Austin on 1850 HeCoTn census to see whose household he was in. Also, check for newspapers 1844 to 1850 in -Madison Co. TN -city of Jackson, Madison Co. TN -Carroll Co. TN -city of Huntington, Carroll Co. TN. -counties south of Henderson Co. TN There might be a sale regarding property of Jeremiah AUSTIN published in an early newspaper to satisfy heirs. Many items about Henderson Co. TN were published in early newspapers of Madison Co. TN. I checked the 1850 slave schedule of HeCoTn for Jeremiah AUSTIN; he was not listed as a slave owner. I don't know if there is a 1850 slave schedule on the Decatur Co. TN website, you might check. I would check all the Miscellany by Mr. Smith on this website, the indexes for Austin: http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/ Lastly, I would buy an ad in "The Lexington Progess" newspaper in Lexington, TN, asking for information, with your address, telephone, and email. In answer to your question, I have many family members whom I can't find. If is frustrating. Good luck.
