Surnames: Austin Woodward Duck Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.tennessee.counties.henderson/236.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Is The History Of Scotts Hill, TN avialable for purchase, or possibly in a library or other facility? I am a descendent of a Woodward that was a brother to Phobe Ellen. The 1830 Census for Henderson County shows that Phoebe Ellen's sister Bathseba who married a Jonathan Duck, and two of her brothers William Dabney and Benjamin were living in Henderson County. I would be curious to see if there is any information on the Woodward's.Thanks, JD
No, it is not unless someone has republished it very recently. The worse thing about it is that it is not indexed . It is in the library at Lexington and at McKenzie. A very quick look at the book : P. Ellen b. in Anson Co NC b. near husband. Small woman, not over 100, parents Jourdan Woodward and Eadie Jones. One of 15 children, father Rev vet. Siblings who came Hen Co included Ben Woodward who married Sally Medlin, Dabney Woodward, a gunsmith; and Basheby Woodward (Mrs. Jonathan Duck). Picture of Asa Lawrence and Phoebe Ellen Austin Woodward. Phoebe Ellen always said the Woodwards followed the Austins to Scotts Hill soon after 1825. He "clerked" for her father in the big store. They relocated in Texas after Jan 1, 1890. He was good business man and master musician. Picture of descendants of Asa and Phoebe taken at homecoming in Texas about 1930. Descendent list for Jonathan and Basheba Woodward Duck Most of the extensive genealogies in this book are of the Austin-Holmes-Scott-Medlin-Duck-Clenney. All the lists have people with Woodward as a first or middle name. There is a list of descendents of Benjamin and Syntha Woodward Clenney. I do not see a genealogy list on either of the Woodward brothers, however. PSH >Is The History Of Scotts Hill, TN avialable for purchase, or possibly in a >library or other facility?
