WILLIAM1 LOVELL He married MARGARET. Notes for WILLIAM LOVELL: Sarah's parents were pioneers in Henderson CO, TN. They emigrated from Virginia in the early days of TN statehood. They were respected as Educators. Descendents of the Lovells who immigrated from England at the End of the revolutionary war. Roots in England go back to Lord Lovell (Eminent statesman?). Children of WILLIAM LOVELL and MARGARET are: 2. I. SARAH M.2 LOVELL. Ii. GLADDEN LOVELL, m. LILLIE. Notes for GLADDEN LOVELL: Served as president of Azle College, Azle TX, during the two year period Hugh L. Small attended. Generation No. 2 2. SARAH M.2 LOVELL (WILLIAM1) She married JOHN WESLEY SMALL 18 Mar 1870, Son of ANDREW SMALL and MARY SEAGO. He was born 07 Sep 1841 in Henderson County, Tennessee, and died 10 Aug 1887 in Carroll County Tennessee. Notes for SARAH M. LOVELL: Possibly buried in the Lovell Cemetery on the Wildersville--Chesterfield Rd. 7 MI. N. Of Chesterfield, and within Natchez Trace State Park. No Gravestones remaining in this small cemetery. Notes for JOHN WESLEY SMALL: Served in Confederate Army. Enlisted in infantry at Henderson, TN under Capt John Howard, Commander. Reached rank of Corporal; captured at battle Of Island No. Ten, taken to Camp Douglas in Chicago, as a POW. After taking "The Oath", he was sent to Vicksburg Mississippi as part of a prisoner Exchange. Returned home, bought land near by and raised a large family. After all his children were born he traded farms Elijah DERRYBERRY for one Just over the county line in Carroll County TN. This farm was about 20 Miles west of the Tennessee river, five miles east of the town of Clarksburg, and near what was later the railroad town of Yuma, TN. The name Of Grovewood was given to the community and later changed to Yuma On February 18, 1895. He was married three times. Buried in the Hare Cemetery next to his father .
