My Cordell line starts from my Great-grandfather, Thomas J.Cordell, born 1847 in Decatur/Henderson Co. Tn. He ran away from home at approx. 12-13 years of age, and the man who took him in, changed the spelling of his last name from Caudle to Cordell. He is the son of Andrew J. Caudle and Ann Clenney.

    3. Hi Sue, yes this info is from the David Davis letters. I revisit them ever so often and am always surprised by something new that reveals itself! Owens orchard, I assume was an orchard on Mr. John Owen's property. > Henry and Piety are buried in the Morris Cem. I have pictures of their rocks > and been there Is the Morris Cemetery in the area where Pleasant Exchange was? Thanks ! Mom said the Carrington-Cazort reunion was real good. Sorry I missed it. That middle son hadn't been home since last May and i sure didn't want to miss out!

    3. In Apr.1841, John Owen of Henderson Co died. The August before that (1840) 3 people were buried at Owens burying ground and 6 were buried at Owens orchard. At Owens Orchard, the wife of Henry Morris and 2 of his children and 3 of Reuben Morgan's family. On the 1840 census for Henderson Co, on page 352 I found henry Norris's family and John Owen and on page 353 I found Reubin Morgan. These people lived in the area known as Pleasant Exchange. Unfortunately, William Rhodes (Will of William Rhodes, dated May 10, 1794, proved August Session 1794 Chatham Co., NC. 3. In 1848, Robert Liston was married and became the father of a daughter, Suzean H. His first wife's name is unknown. Their location is unknown. I have not found him on the 1850 census. By 1852, he has married Mary Ann Wilkins (Graves) and is the father of daughter, Lucy Bell. They are on the 1860 census which states that Robert was born in AL. According to military records, Robert J. Liston enlisted in 55th TN Infantry Co E. on 20 Jan. 1862 at Henderson Station, Madison Co. He was captured at Island 10 , 8 Apr 1862; received 20 Apr 1862 at Camp Randall; Madison , Wisconsin; then sent ot Camp Douglas, Chicago, IL where he died 9 July 1862. Camp Douglass records call him Robert A. Who was this? Where did he come from? Who was the first wife? Thanks! Renea 1st/TN Teach and touch a life forever!
