    2. Phillip D. Jones
    3. Is there anyone familiar with the Rock Springs Cemetery in northern part of Henderson Co at Rock Springs Methodist Church. I found a Hannah White, wife of Wilse White, on the cemetery listing on-line. (1837 - 1902) I went to visit the cemetery, and could not find the stone. If anyone has any information on this person, or if the stone has been removed, I would like to hear from you. Joyce - Gibson Co.

    1. [TNHENDER] Library Correction
    2. Wanda Lee
    3. My sincere apologizes to the list for posting incorrect information about the documents at the Lexington library. I received the following e-mail and felt I should send the correction so everyone would know where they ended up. I was quoting what was published in The Jackson Sun when I e-mailed the list that the documents were sent to the Chester County library. > [Original Message] > From: Denise Joyner <dejoyner@fortunehitech.net> > To: <wwlee@usit.net> > Date: 5/7/2003 10:20:23 PM > Subject: RE: [TNHENDER] Everett Horn Library The historical documents from the Tennessee Room in the Lexington Library are not in Chester County. Most of the original works are currently housed in the Beech River Cultural Center and Museum in Lexington. The microfilm is being stored with the general circulation books in a warehouse North of town. Representatives from the State Archives have been here to assist. If you have the opportunity drop a note to the librarian and thank her for her selfless effort to protect these irreplaceable documents. She has gone way beyond the call of duty. The scores of volunteers are also due praise.

    3. Linda: There was damage to the Lexington High School area and with White Street being close to the main road, there probably was some damage. The following was published in The Jackson Sun and maybe someone at these numbers can direct you to where you can find out about specific addresses and people that live there. .....To help For information, or to volunteer to help, call Alderman Brian Williams at (731) 968-8381 or (731) 967-5523. A center for volunteers is set up in the Henderson County Fairgrounds exhibit center, near the Lexington Police Department. City building inspector Greg Bird is working to inspect repair work as it is completed. People who have storm damage to their houses or businesses, inside the city limits only, should call Bird at (731) 968-6657. > [Original Message] > From: <LFLENT@aol.com> > To: <TNHENDER-L@rootsweb.com> > Date: 5/7/2003 10:36:59 AM > Subject: [TNHENDER] Lexington TN > > Were any homes damaged on WHITE ST. close to Lexington High School, by the > tornado. > > I have been trying to reach someone who lives on that street. > > Thank you. 3. In today's Jackson Sun, there is a story about the condition of the library. Fortunately, volunteers were able to get all the historical documents moved from the Tennessee Room to the Chester County library for safe keeping. That is a bit of good news mixed in with all the tragedy.

    3. This has been the worst storm in my fourty years living in Lexington. Yes the Everett Horn Library was damaged. We are luck because the Major Market across the street was completely leveled. In a radio interview this afternoon about 4:00 p.m. Diane, the Librarian, said she that since about 2:00 a.m. she had been trying to cover as many of the materials as she could with plastic. She said about 25% of the roof is gone. She said they made a special effort to care for the irreplaceable items such as those in the Tennessee Room. It will be a while before the library is operating again. That's all I know for now. 3. Linda: My son's girlfriend lives in Lexington and she told him that all the way into Lexington down Highway 412 to about the Courthouse there is damage on both sides of the highway. Some of the buildings are completely gone. The tornado then turned toward Natchez Trace and went on to Parsons. She also told him that electricity and water was out. I heard myself on the radio that the library did sustain damage. I think it was to the roof. This storm is the one that came through Jackson and stayed on the ground for 65 miles.
