Hi Wilma, Mary Colen CAUDLE b 1844, NC, married Thomas Jefferson NEISLER. Mary's brother, Jacob Thomas CAUDLE b 1849 married Eiseneth Abigail NEISLER. There may have been others, but these are more in my direct line. Mary & Jacob CAUDLE were sister & brother and their dad was Berry CAUDLE from Anson Co, NC. I have no solid proof but I believe Berry may have been a brother to Absalom CAUDLE Jr, whom I think is your Anderson's dad. Scott's Hill is now in Decatur Co (I think) and maybe was once part of Henderson Co.(I think) Sandra >From: "Wilma Fields" <wfields@cox-internet.com> >Reply-To: TNHENDER-L@rootsweb.com >To: TNHENDER-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [TNHENDER] Upcoming Reunion >Date: Tue, 16 Sep 2003 08:21:36 -0500 > >Sandra, > >Not having been to this area of Tennessee, is that at Scotts Hill or where? >And do you know which Caudle's married into this family? Sandra, Not having been to this area of Tennessee, is that at Scotts Hill or where? And do you know which Caudle's married into this family? I am a descendent of Andrew J. Caudle & Ann Clenney Caudle. My Great grandfather was born there, and I have so wanted to visit this area. Wilma
If you have any connection to the NEISLER familiy, no matter how remote, please joiin us! There were a lot of NEISLERs that lived in Henderson Co from 1840 - 1900 and later. Although this is not a complete list, here are some Henderson Co families that married into the NEISLER line or are descended from the NEISLERs: BEECHAM, BUCK, CAUDLE, CLIMER, CROSSNOE, GILLIAM, GOFF, GRISSOM, GURLEY, HART, HOLMES, JOHNSON, JORDAN, KELLEY, LITTLE, MARTIN, MAYO, MELTON, MITCHELL, PHILLIPS, POOL, SPAIN ,STONE, SWAFFORD, TAYLOR, TURLEY, WILSON, WILLIAMS, WILKERSON, WILKINSON, WRIGHT Some of the descendants moved on to surrounding counties, such as Chester & Madison, or moved out of state. This reunion is not limited to the NEISLERs who settled in Henderson Co. The NEISLERs miigrated from Cabarrus Co, NC, before settling in Henderson Co or branching off to other states, so anyone connected to any of the other collateral lines that settled elsewhere is requested to attend. In fact we even have people attending from Cabarrus Co, NC! Several of us on the NEISLER mail list are organizing a NEISLER Reunion to be held in Henderson Co during the weekend of Oct 11 & 12. People are coming from various states and we hope to have people from the Henderson Co area attend as well. Don't worry if you don't know anyone because many of us have never met either. In fact, there is a NEISLER descendant who lives in the same Illinois town as I, whom I've never met, but we have talked on the phone several times. It seems funny that my first time meeting him will be in TN!!! Please pass this information on to everyone you know! There are two days to keep in mind as explained below. Date: Saturday, Oct 11, Time: To be announced later Location: Union Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Henderson Co, TN This is an informal meeting reserved primarily for those of us who are interested in genealogy. We are going to exchange information, go on a tour of the cemeteries, and eat out together. The "official" reunion will be on Sunday. This is for anyone regardless of their interest in genealogy. We just want all the NEISLER descendants to be there! Date: Sunday, Oct 12 Location: Shiloh Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Henderson Co, TN Time: Immediately following the morning service (around 12:30) We are having a potluck so please bring a covered dish and come join us! We plan on eating at 1PM. In addtiion, travelers are lodging at the Holiday Inn in Jackson, TN. If you need a hotel room, call and reserve a room under the "Nesisler Reunion" as soon as possible and you can get the group rate! Hi, Looking for information on the Arnold family of the Decatur and Henderson Co areas. I am looking for a family for my Thomas Arnold. He was born around 1820 - 1822 in TN. In 1850 he appears in Illinois. I can not find him before 1850 anywhere in IL. He marries in 1850 and stays with his wife and children in IL until his death in 1899. I have not been able to connect him to any of the numerous Arnold families in IL. I think he came to IL in probably the late 1840's either alone, with unrelated people or family with a different last name. Any help connecting him to Arnolds in Decatur or Henderson will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jo Ann

In Chester County south east of Henderson and northwest of Enville. If you leave Enville on Hwy 22A and turn left on Enville Road and follow it about 7.5 miles, you will be at Sweet Lips. BTW, the town of Henderson is not is Henderson County. It's in Chester Co. Gene
Does anyone know where SWEET LIPS was located in the 1800's? Thank you, Jane
If anyone has copy of "The Story of Chesterfield" by Mrs. Eula Essary Scatterday, is there information in it about the old community of Lone Elm? Does anyone know where Lone Elm was? Was it near Warrens Bluff, Henderson Co. TN? Thank you. Linda

Valerie, On the 1850 census, the three children are named: William, 6; Sarah, 4; and Marcus, 2; all born in TN. I could not find them in the l860 census nor the l870 census of Henderson Co. Daniel was born in SC. Living next door to them was a James Todd, age 76, born in IL and Mary, age 66, born in NC. There are two other Todds living near them, a James Todd, age 27, born in SC and a Benjamin Todd, age 42, born in SC and their families. It looks like a man and his 3 sons. All 3 of the younger ones were born in SC. Sorry I couldn't find them in the l860/70 census. We ask that when you get the letter, you notify your family in any way you choose--neices, nephews, aunts, uncles, children, grandchildren or whomever you want to know about it. It will be a time of getting acquainted with relatives we haven't met and for reminiscing with some we knew and loved so long ago.
