    2. Denise, FYI, On website http://www.tngenweb.org/henderson/ under ANNOUNCEMENTS is email address of webmaster address: hendersoncotnearthlink.net. My guess is this is email address for David Taylor. Since the last time the website was updated was in Feb 2003, I thought perhaps the webmaster had passed away, was ill, or something else had happened. Good luck. Linda Looking for information on these families in Henderson County. Specifically James P. and Sarah E. (Sheppard) Ferguson. Often listed in the census' as "Furguson or Furgeson." Little did I know that these families married quite a bit within a couple of generations. Would like to verify what information that I have found with anyone. Does anyone have David Taylor's new email address? The one that I have is from 2001. Thank you, Denise Lake

    2. Does anyone have information on below family? I hope to prove the identity of the parents of EMELINE E. (FULLER) SMITH, other than some evidence that leads me to believe she was the daughter of JORDAN FULLER and his wife ELIZABETH (CONYERS) FULLER of Henderson Co. TN, ca 1823-1855, 1857. In a transcribed 1857 deed, recorded in Henderson Co. TN, the information seems to tie Emeline E. Smith, "formerly Emeline E. Fuller," and John Smith to Jordan Fuller and his heirs. 3. The first courthouse was built in 1822. In 1863, the Third Michigan Cavalry was quartered therein and set fire to the courthouse. Most county records were destroyed. A second fire in 1895 destroyed more records. The deed was then sent to the county where the property was to be recorded. In this case, the Joel Fuller was residing in Fanning Co, TX, the Heorvel was a court official for that county and the power of attorney was for Story to conduct business in Henderson Co, TN Renea, list mom TNGenWeb Sites Decatur Co http://www.netease.net/decatur Perry Co http://www.netease.net/perry/ ----- Original Message ----- From: <LFLENT@aol.com> To: <TNHENDER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, October 26, 2003 10:03 AM Subject: [TNHENDER] Power of Attorney-Henderson Co. > I am hoping someone can help me with a section from a power of attorney > recorded in Henderson Co. 1. [TNHENDER] Oak Grove Cem., near Lexington
    2. David Donahue
    3. I have been checking my 1998 work and updating this cemetery. I have two questions if anyone can help. East of the church and across the road from the eastern section of Oak Grove Cemetery are three markers (and three burials) for the family of Rev. Elzie S. Garner. Is this area part of Oak Grove Cemetery, or is this a new family cemetery separate from Oak Grove? Does anyone know who is responsible for Oak Grove cemetery, say, who does one ask to get permission to bury here or to claim space for future burials. I found a conflict in one of the older rows in the eastern part of the cemetery. Three small circular "W" markers have been placed to hold space, either where there is no space at all or where the space has already been claimed by another family. The "W" space holders are in the immediate area where three running rows merge into two. The gap in the markers is caused by the row merger, not because space is unused. If the E.J., B.J. and W.T.J. markers to the east of the line of "W" space holders are replacement Jowers markers (my thought in 2003), there is no burial space here at all. Girtha Blankenship, Leonard Blankenship and either J.D. Blankenship or Lucille Blankenship are buried west of the line of "W" space holders. If the E.J., B.J., and W.T.J. markers are spaceholders (my thought in 1998), the Jowers family claimed the space first. I just want to report this so that the "W" space holders can be moved somewhere else before there is a problem. The double marker for Augusta & Laudie F. Blankenship south of the gap continues in the row east of the row with the double marker for J. B. and L. A. Alexander north of the gap (which is the last marker in its row). The rows in the eastern section of Oak Grove were not laid out, they just sort of happened. I hope to check and update the western section in the next couple of days. David
