    3. .http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/cemeteries/index.html I have checked and updated Oak Grove Cemetery in Middleburg. I had checked and updated the cemetery in 2001 but that update was one of the files lost in the 2002 server crash. Sidewalk chalk really helps in reading markers. The most important thing is that the chalk allowed me to read and correct the death date for Sharwood Johnson. Hopefully it will rain soon because I used every piece of chalk I had, including green, purple, and pink. Also newly online is a 12-year update of Evans and new cemeteries Emanuel and Fairview. 2. Could you send me the info you have on Christenberry family? I am related to the Christenberry family and the Carter family that intermarried into it from the Decaturville area. Any info would be greatly appreciated? I have a Thomas, William, and a J.G. W. (Dr. James George Washington)Christenberrry just to name a few. 3. I do not know anything about the family. I follow two descendant lines of the family of George H. Christenberry (1835-1914). By 1870 he was living in the Decaturville area but he had a daughter (d. 1861) buried at New Hope cemetery in the Shady Hill community of Henderson Co. If anyone discussing Christenberry could use the information I will send it. David

Christenberry . I have been perplexed about this individual too. This is the info I have on him, almost nothing. I am hoping you have been able to find some info since your posting that you would be willing to share with me. 1860 Henderson co, TN census Carter , Jessee (Jepe?) 55 age bp NC dist 15 pg 225 house 1453 Elizabeth 55 NC 15 225 1453 Christenberry, J.G.W. 33 "gentleman" 33age bp TN 15 225 1453 Carter, J.M. 24 age TN dist 15 225 1454 (next door to Jesse) S.E. 23 TN 15 225 1454 Calvin 3 TN 15 225 1454 My line is as follows: Mary Maria Christenberry and Charles Pinkney Carter . Father of Mary is WIlliam Christenberry. William has a brother named Thomas. Thomas m. Mahala Fisher . They had Sarah E. Christenberry. Sarah E. Christenberry m. J.M. Carter. Sarah and J.M. had children: John Calvin Carter, b. 1859, Mahala, abt. 1863 and Jennie. Here is the problem: John Calvin, Mahala and Jennie live with William Christenberry after the civil war. There is no sign of either parent. In the above 1860 census, you'll see J.G.W. Chrsitenberry is living with Jesse and Elizabeth Carter, parents of J.M. Carter who maried Sarah Christenberry. Is J.G.W. Sarah's brother? How does he fit in this picture?

    3. http://www.tngenweb.org/records/henderson/cemeteries/index.html I had a deja vu experience this weekend. I was redoing New Hope Cemetery to replace the lost 2001 update. I was about four rows into it when I sort of said to myself, "Boy David, you did a lousy job on this cemetery." And suddenly I recalled thinking the same thing in the same spot in 2001. There is a 13-year update of New Hope, an 8-year update of Center Hill, a 12-year update of Jones, and a 9-year update of the black McHaney.

    1. Re: [TNHENDER] Please help, Need Death date, JOHNSON
    2. Sandra: got this information while searching Henderson Co. for my Johnsons. I do not have the original but you should be able to order it from the TN State Library and Archives at the below address, using the Certificate No. that I sent and the county where she died. http://www.state.tn.us/sos/statelib/pubsvs/mailstat.htm I had an Uncle, William E. Adams who married a Sallie Essry but she died in 1927. I don't think she was yours. However, look at my web site below. If you have problems finding the web site of the TN State Library and Archives, please let me know.
